    Dot has no beak.

Dot is doing very well. She heels like a dog and completely freaks out my 2 year old grandson by her constantcy of heeling. The other day, all the hens were out of their yard and I fed her ruby red quinio and she fought off the other chickens like a roo! She does roost at the top of the coop. I...

    Dot has no beak.

Yikes. Mites. I have always considered them and looked for any signs. I haven't seen any signs of mites. But I will run out in the morning and check again.

Thank you! You are all very nice and I appreciate the advice. I can't even imagine how her beak was broken off. I googled it and found nothing about chickens losing thier beaks. I asked 2 chicken experts in my area and I just received blank horrified looks. It is horrifying! And they had no...

    Dot has no beak.

I have Dot and a friend, Kolleen, separated. That is encouraging that her beak may grow back. Picture is still pending. I will get some chick feed. One of the black Amercaunas, Moxie, had Dot by the neck when I went out to separate them! Yikes! I don't know if I can ever look Moxie in the eye again!

    Dot has no beak.

She was the biggest hen. Her beak was fine and then one day all she had left was a sliver. She does eat and drink. I will post pictures after work. She is thinner. I put gruel out in 5 different places so she can eat and not get picked on. Right. Chickens don't have lips. I was attempting humor...

    Dot has no beak.

I don't know what happened. Her beak had one small sliver that I cut off so she could eat. I make her gruel to eat and she devours it. It even looks like she can peck a little, unless that is just a habit. I can't find any information on chicken lips. Will her beak grow back? Have you ever heard...
