I have my eggs on an automatic turner. When getting ready for lock down, can i move the eggs off the turner on the the wire rack (with paper towel on rack) after throughly washing my hands? i hate to see them hatch on the turner.
I would let them roost in it at night but i have to let the adults in before then so they can roost. I may have to open the doors and hope the juniors can hide. I will open both doors tonight. I just hate that they are not use to the big coop so if they get scared and run out of the coop, and...
I have ten juniors in a pen with a mini coop behind my large coop that holds 7 adults. three roosters and 4 hens. Yes, i need to see if someone wants a polish rooster and decrease the amount of roosters i have. Anyway, I closed the big door to the large coop today, and opened the chicken door...
I have always had great success with my pet chicken. I have not found any place close to peoria il to try. I never heard of Schlect. I will have to check them out.
i never got a before pic of the chick with the curled toe but i can say that after three days with having a q-tip for a brace and taped to the curled toe, that the little guy's toe is straight now :)
i would like to get three beak guards but all i see is you have to order a 100 at a time. I don't need that many. anyplace where you can buy less or anyone i can buy some off of?
SINCE she just starting sitting, it might be good to wait till the roo has fertilized the eggs and she still has 20 days to go. i can move her later when it is closer to time. good idea :)
good idea. should i mark the eggs that she is laying on? i have an easter that likes to lay in the same nest. my hen is sitting on an easter and a silkie egg. would like to have some eggs to eat since i only have two hens laying right now.
i don't know if they are fertilized or not but guess we will find out. the only thing is she lays an egg for me everyday and not sure now if she will since she is sitting.
