How long can eggs sit before they aren't able to be incubated?

You can go to "Pet-Smart" or Wal-Mart and buy a hygrometer for under $10. Also on Incubator Wearhouse's web-site they have a really cool digital combo thermometer/hygrometer with a probe that hangs down in the 'bator and the read-out part sits outside so doesn't take up any space inside the 'bator. Think it cost bout $15

Can the eggs sit in the coop a few days when it is cooler outside before bringing in to incubate?
