My wonderful peacocks were a present from my best friend a few months ago. We built them a large...Peacock Pallet Plaace and wow.....all the sudden they are so happy (and loud)! So we have Pacasso, Persefonie & Panelope, 1 male and 2 females & they are inda blues. All the sudden Pacasso start...
Here I am again...just a few nights later having to do the surgery on another turkey I will have my husband for help this time so I expect it to go much better...ok, maybe not better, but quicker. Thanks egain everyone for posting. I appreciate all the knowledge!
My turkeys had the pox this year. For mine it was large black bumps on thier faces. Looked awful, but after time it did go away. It looks much worse than it is. I bought a vacine, but mine already had it and even after using it another turkey still got it. I was told it was just a rough year and...
So the glue did hold on the crop just not on the outter skin. So I did just sew her closed, but will have to remove the stitches later on. I really hope my pretty turkey hen makes it! I feel like I did a good job.
I wanted to let everyone know that I am thankful for the posts here and I performed the surgery on a turkey a hour ago. It was the hardest thing I had ever done, but I felt like the turkeys impacted crop was my fault cause I recently fluffed the pen with hay and there was hay in the turkeys...
So picked her up tonight and her leg just seemed turned.... she does not seem too concerned about it either. We will keep a close eye on her. I would not leave her in pain and will put her down if we need to.
The only way we can think she did this is by jumping off roost. She can still roost, her leg is almost backwards. Any help appreciated. Will get pics. Just saw last night.
Poor Kisses passed away while I was inside cleaning house. Went out to hand feed her again and she had passed. Drake is still eating very well. I wormed him with the liquid Ivermectin and then I added it to a bowl of water then soaked bread in it and fed to the other ducks. Really hoping I can...
Hey there. I have a flock of about 12 muskovey ducks. 3 days ago we noticed a hen stumbling around and weak. She let us pick her right up (which is not normal) I have her seperated in a cage up off the ground now. I noticed this morning now a drake has the same symtoms: think, weak. he is still...
I also have a few sick ducks. My plans are to flush out the 12x5 foot pond today. I have moved the 2 sick ducks and hand feeding the female and watering her by hand too. She looks really bad, but the drake is still eating on his own.
So tomorrow we start our battle with the fleas! There are sooo many of them! I have read lots of posts here about other people fighting the fleas too. I was kinda wondering if the "lack of winter" lasy year may have something to do with this. We never had a freeze to kill off any bugs last...
hey everyone! On here doing some research. I have coops cleaner than some peoples houses and man................my chickens have the fleas now! Plans are to get the seven dust tomorrow! I have used DE for years, but I feel like the fleas are laughing at me! Ants are laughing at me now too...
I am by no means a expert, but my turkeys have the turkey pox and this does not look like what they have. My turkeys have individual black bumps on thier heads and under thier beaks. The bumps can be large. I did get a vaxination from my local feed store (which I do not think did anything) And...
Hey I love the dust bath idea! I just noticed today that we have the sand fleas around some of the bantams eyes I have used DE for years!!!! I should not be having this problem! Since I am I am gonna set up a bath (normally I just sprinkle in nest boxes and around coops) Can I spray...
I wanted to say thanks for posting this. I seem to have the same situation here at my farm with a turkey I just bought. I will take really good care of him and see if it clears up.
