I always liked the part in "me, Myself and Irene" with Jim Carey when his neighbors dog keeps pooping in his front yard and the neighbor thinks it's funny. Later in the movie, Jim Carey's character goes over to the neighbors front lawn, drops his pants and poops on the neighbors front lawn.
large breed herding/stock dogs would be along the lines of pyrenee(sp?), Bernese mountain dog, olde english sheepdog. Newfies are good watchdogs, tend to be sedate and don't wander but are expensive (but VERY good with kids if you have any, just keep them away from water as they LOVE to swim)...
Keep finding this weird foamy stuff in our garden, it's in an area where our chickens will be going once they are ready to go outside and don't want them out there if this stuff is dangerous. I can clean it up and it comes right back the next morning. Not always in the same spots either. Any...
how about catching them all, hide them in your garage/shed whatever, the ask if your neighbor would like to come over for some grilled chicken (tell him it's freshly caught!) after he realizes his chickens are missing, tell them you didn't realize they were his and found them wandering around...
and for future info... never do a google search for Barred Rock Sex Link pictures when your 5 year ols is standing next to you, brings up some not safe for children results:o

Are the buffs less hardy as far as chicks? seems as if the three that didn't hatch were the buff mixes (just going by appearance of the unhatched chick)
got the eggs of of ebay and they were listed as possible ...
Buff Orpingtons - Black Jersey Giants - Brahmas - Rhode Island Reds - Barred Rock Sex Link - Araucana crossed with a R.I.R. and a Brahma
They are mutts so trying to figure out what possible parent stock they are from.

Got them off of ebay, have to wait and see how these two progress (can't have more than 2 or 3 and have to be hens...) if one or both ends up as cockerels, I will go for buffs for next set if I can. Wish I could get day olds locally but state requires sellers to sell 6 or more at a time...
It appears that the hatch is complete, started with 12, 3 damaged in shipping, 4 didn't appear to be fertilized. Had 5 that looked good at 14 day candling. One was even a double yolk! As of today, got two hatched, one on day 19, one on day 20. checked other 3 and no activity. did a post-op on...
thanks for the info, never seen this with the quail I have hatched so got worried. Doesn't seem to be bleeding anymore but does have what looks like a string hanging from his navel.
