He's pretty much cooled down at this point from being inside , but I will do what you suggested with the sugar water. My room is pretty quiet and he's acting less disoriented and fighting more when i try to give water with the dropper.
When I brought him in, he was pretty much limp. Still not...
1) What type of bird , age and weight
He is an American Gamefowl a little more than a month old, but can't remember exact age. Otherwise healthy
2) What is the behavior, exactly.
Really lethargic, and disoriented at first, but now just sitting in the box. Not interested in food or water
3)...
i have a new chick that hatched today. my unlce, not knowing they can take an entire day to hatch, helped it out. its toes wont uncurl correctly and it cant get up. all it does us peep and flop. i thought it might be a neck injury, but its picking its head up now
I only have four hens at the moment and we only find about 2 eggs a day. Given, the count seems to be going up a bit as it gets warmer. I've written the date I got the eggs directly on them this time so that I know for sure when they will hatch
Thinking about and reading more, I think i've figured out my issue. HUMIDITY. Dang. I followed the book, but got real busy for several days the water was gone when I finally got back out to check them. Also, I have a feeling that I may have opened it couple times too close to the hatch day...
I'm looking up the ones you guys mentioned, and both are WAY off on color. The age is right though. They're about a week old and growing fast. There are no feathers on their feet.
Neither of the adults have any white on them. After a couple more guesses, I'll show what the parents look like :)
Yeah I've candled them, and it looks like the last one. I can only see the air bubble and it looks just like the other two did before they hatched, but it just hasn't pipped or been wobbling yet. I would put a pic up, but the flashlight I use seems to have gone missing.
Hi guys, I've been reading articles on here for the past three weeks while some eggs were incubating and thought i'd finally actually join he party. I'm just a teen working on raising chickens and loving it so far. One little question, about how long can you wait after an egg is past its hatch...
yes, I know it's young, but could you possibly guess what breed and age this little chick? Yes, I know what it is, just wanna test you guys. If still too little, that's fine
This one is few days older, but wings aren't as visible cause it didn't wanna sit still
