Well I am not sure yeat but I think that I may be ****** at myself for doing something that I have yet to do in the last 6 hatchings. I have hatched out over 400 chicks in the last couple of months or so and I have never had splayed legs. Didn't even know what it was. Instesd of letting the...
I'm not that dumb. I guess I took you wrong. It is just hard to see who crows and to see who would lay when you have a pen of 50.
Just saying. That's why I asked for visual cues
I have read on here that all you have to do is pick them up and look at the area behing the bung hole and if it is swelled up then you have yourself a roo. Well they are 4.5 weeks old now and I cannot tell any difference. Is there anything else that I can look at to tell. Is there any facial...
If you opened the incubator before all of your eggs hatched you can mark them gone. Not to be mean but you killed/shrink wrapped them. I know because I messed up and thats what happened with my first 2 batches before I was told to keep the top down.
Hi, My two cents would be to order some eggs from ebay buyer "rsv201111". I ordered 100 Texas A&M eggs from him and I hatched out 80 out of 100. Their were no broken eggs at all.
Have you thought about clipping the wings. I clip all of my quail. My cage that is outside has a top that opens up. I just walk over to it and raise the top. They try to fly out and then they do get out sometime but if you clip one wing, at least when they do get out they can only fly about...
It is an amazing sight. This was my very first hatch and got 93 out of 134.
I really do commend you for what you are doing to try and batch with what you have. Most people wouldn't even think about trying.
Well guys and gals. Thanks for all of the great information that you always are so eager to give. I tried all I could last night and I woke up this morning and she was tired of living here I guess. She went on to chicken heaven.
Ok. I went back out there and took a water hose and fan it over her really slow for several minutes to try and cool her off. It was about 107 degrees here today. It it's been like that for last several weeks. Not sure. Anyways after running a lot of water over her and holding her mouth open and...
Well since we are on the feed waste issue I will share a little that I have experimented with and tell you the results. As you can see in the first picture it is my 90 A&M and some brown. Kurds that I just hatched last week and these boogers are growing fast. I started out by feeding them with...

Hey there. I just hatched out my first batch of quail last week my self. I hatched 93 out of 134. Not to bad I guess. I had to get just a small hand held coffee grinder. I could grind it up so it would look like dust. I did that for about a week and served all they could eat. I had it in front...
Hello all. Not sure if I can do anything or it may be to late but I just went out to water all the birds and I seen one of my hens laying in the dirt covered with ants. I grabbed her and sprayed her off with water to clean her up and her legs and wings are lifeless. She just lays there. If I...
Wow. Thanks zooweemama. You just have me a ton of schooling on the ducks. I will definitely be putting MR BLUE in freezer camp and then I will be looking for some more ducks. I haut can't seem to find any right now. There are plenty of babies but none that big enough for mating.
So what could happen or what would happen if I just kept the two drakes and the two hens. I am just asking. I can maybe find a few more ducks. Icanndefinitely get rid of the blue Swedish drake.
My wife will not part from the two khaki drakes. I have two hens so I will probably put the Swedish drake into freezer camp. I will then have two drakes and two hens. What should I do.
