Not sure what else I can do - need help!

Thanks for the advices. Denagard worked really well! I first thought about getting rid of everybody and start all over again, but then a friend of mine was looking for a flock of layers... I gave her my chickens at the right time: life forced me to move to FL and I now live in a condo. She's...

Comment by 'acbunker' in item 'Hova Bator Egg Incubator 1602N with Circulated Air Fan Kit'

Unfortunately, it turned out to be horrible. After 2 hatchings, it couldn't keep the temperature accurate anymore. It was almost too hot or too cold. I lost several eggs twice in a row (first time I thought it was just a fluke, but it wasn't). So I returned and exchanged for the Genesis model...

Not sure what else I can do - need help!

I spent a lot of money on my birds, got roosters and hens from different people so they wouldn't be "related", was expecting I would be able to breed and "possibly" show them, not cull the entire flock... (stupid auto-correct!!) :P

Not sure what else I can do - need help!

Holly moly!!! It could be 500 different things!!! Wow...... I might have to take a live bird in for a necrosis. And pray that it has what the other ones have! Wow...... I'm...... Speechless!! Never thought the chicken thing could be so complicated... :-( I spent a lot of money on my birds...

Not sure what else I can do - need help!

Thanks for your reply. I did some reading and OUCH! No wonder they don't get 100% better... Wow, that's sad... I just bought the Denagard ($5 cheaper at Valley Vet Supplies online). But if I decided to cull my entire flock, instead of keeping a closed flock, can I keep some hatching eggs so I...

Not sure what else I can do - need help!

For the past 3 months I've been fighting with something in my chickens. They were sneezing, coughing and wheezing. I'm semi-new to the chicken thing, having them for not even 18 months, but until March of this year I had only 6 and now I have 3 pens and 25 total (plus 7 meat birds). * First I...

    Does she have scaly legs?

She was bleeding where the feathers grow. I've been doing out every three days now, and i'm not using tea tree but VetRx. Her legs seem to be getting better, but she still doesn't look too happy. Actually I'm starting a new thread because I'm having some problems and I'm not sure what else I...

    Does she have scaly legs?

I treated her legs again last night. Is it normal to bleed when I scrub it?? :/

    Does she have scaly legs?

Thank you so much for your reply. I did use a toothbrush when washing it last night. I'll repeat the process tomorrow (probably every other day for 2 weeks), but maybe I'll put some tea tree oil that I bought it yesterday... Not sure on the eprinex or ivomec though... Never use / don't have...

    Does she have scaly legs?

Never had this problem before, so I don't know what exactly to look for... I've read several threads about scaly legs and yesterday I started treating her by washing her legs with warm water and holistic/natural flea shampoo + a mix of bag balm and VetRx (warmed up for better mixing and...

    Are they really ALL roosters???

By the way, these are not the only roos I have. I'm so lucky that out of 9 Russian Orloffs I hatched a few months ago, 7 are roos. And out of 4 that I hatched 2 months ago, at least 2 are roos as well. I'm keeping 2 RO roos, 1 blue splash Wheaten Ameraucana roo, and 1 blue copper marans roo...

    Are they really ALL roosters???

I'll try to sell or re-home, but I already have 6 purebred Wheaten Ameraucana roos (not EE) that I've been trying to re-home for 2 months and no one has come forward. If I can't find them homes, they'll be dinner... Oh well... :-( My meat pen already has the 6 Ameraucana roos, plus 3 crossed...

    Are they really ALL roosters???

Actually I'm new to this whole incubating thing, and these guys were my second batch that I kept. So I decided to follow the "leg trick": the ones with hanging legs are girls, the ones with legs up are boys... According to the test, they were supposed to be all "girls". Well, as of today...

    Are they really ALL roosters???

Thanks for your reply. These are all the pics I have for the black ones. I can take more tomorrow... Also, how about the barred cross and the gray and blonde olive egger? (their pictures are on my first message)

    Are they really ALL roosters???

Bought hatching eggs (copper marans and olive eggers), hatched and raised them all, hoping I'd get some hens out of them. Sold a few as chicks, kept 6 olive eggers, 4 marans, and one barred rock/marans cross. They are 18 weeks old now and unfortunately they are all looking like roosters...

Momma hen lost almost all baby chicks. Need advice ASAP!!

She's a French Black Copper Marans. They can't get out anymore because of the chicken wire, so the cat can't get them anymore... Would she accept them and would they accept her? I'm new to this, but I think that's how it works, they all need to believe they are a family, right? :/
