Sry about the Mareks, but welcome to BYC! I'm sure there are people that can help. Chicken Mummy, a new member just posted something about that. She said she was using hypericum homeopathic 30c for Mareks disease. There might be something to that. You should reach out to her.
You could use the "Deep Litter" method with pine shavings. It is incredibly practical if you have a garden or other compost need. Our coop is in progress, but that is the direction we are going.
I'm so proud of my wife! She got outside last night and was integral in getting our coop framed. And I certainly don't want to forget that she has done the designing herself. She has done magnificently!
