My wife and I had the worst day building our coop. All of our progress was hampered by screws that were too short. Everything fell apart. On the plus side, we took down one of our fence panels and realized we could make iowa coop larger than originally planned. That means more chickens!!!!!

Just sayin', I bought the right size screws and you lost the box. Then YOU went back to get another box and bought too short screws. Nice job husband, nice job.

lol, I'm amazed my marriage survived our month long 8X8 coop building project (its not quite done yet, maybe I spoke too soon). We couldn't agree on anything so we just bought a shed kit and thought we were safe until it came to designing the inside

I am very, very careful with my DH when I need to have something done or made with my coops. If I "nag" to much he will get stubborn and not do it

I have great ideas (if I say so myself!) but cannot execute them due to some delexia and spaciel problems with anything having to do with wood

I'll get or buy the materials, I'll get the saws, nails, air compressor and sawhorses out and clean up everything when he is done.

I think its a fair trade off because now I have all I wanted...............so far!

(I hope he doesn't see this. He'd be insulted!)

We are a pretty good team, but sometimes it is difficult because while we both want the same end result we also have different ideas on how to get there. With two very stubborn people this quickly becomes a problem.

Last weekend it took my DH and I all day Sunday to build a hardware cloth covered gate. I do the design (I am the visual half) he does the measurements (math half) the biggest problem is my hand gesturs for length, width & height. We both share the construction. We have been together for 33 years and are still doing projects together.

I just finished my coop...it gets better. Good luck on the build.

I'm so proud of my wife! She got outside last night and was integral in getting our coop framed. And I certainly don't want to forget that she has done the designing herself. She has done magnificently!
