My broody hen just hatched seven chicks yesterday. I have some Purina Start and Grow that I bought a year ago, it was opened a year ago but it has been stored in my barn and its all dry. Is the feed still good and okay to feed to the new chicks or do I need to buy new chick feed? Thanks.
Can you just solely feed laying chickens whole oats? I just bought a 50 pound bag thinking I would use it as feed without evening knowing if it's ok. I would also feed them crushed egg shells as a calcium supplement.
