Bubble looking injury on duck foot. Thoughts?

Hi, I have an Indian Runner duck that has been limping and has what looks like a bubble on one of her toes. It has grown bigger in the last week. Originally it just looked like a small scab. That whole toe seems to be a little swollen. Picture attached. Any thoughts on what it might be...

    injured duck help!

Spotty is doing really well, she is still living in our bathroom but I think she will survive. Thanks again!! Spotty is on the left and Mary is on the right. Taken during a visit inside yesterday.

    injured duck help!

My overly cautious parents brought Spotty to the vet again while I was at work. Apparently the wound was originally several inches deep but seems to have missed any major organs. Spotty is doing much better and has started eating with the help of something similar to the NutriDrench mentioned...

    injured duck help!

We brought Mary in for 30 minutes each day of the weekend, but Mary has so much more energy and continually looks like she is going to attack Spotty, so we could only allow short supervised visits. When Mary was inside, Spotty did eat a little more than otherwise, but otherwise even her...

    injured duck help!

Hi, Spotty spent the night at the vet on tuesday night where she got a shot of antibiotics and had her wound professionally cleaned. She seemed peppier on Wednesday and Thursday but today seems a little listless and won't eat even her peas (! She ate them on Monday-Wednesday with great...

    injured duck help!

Okay, Spotty Warrior Princess is doing better. She is eating and drinking more. It seems a little painful for her to walk, so she is shuffling around a bit, but she is pepping up. I am at work but my mother put her outside in a small "pack and play" area because her "mate" Mary was quacking up...

    injured duck help!

When she laid that egg this morning, I decided that she needs an official name change from Spotty to Warrior Princess.

    injured duck help!

We have cleaned the wound with saline and used the veterycin spray, but we can't keep a bandage on the wound ... She fidgets out of it. How important is it to cover the wound? She is inside in a bath tub on a towel and we are changing the towel every few hours. We were able to keep the bandage...

    injured duck help!

Thanks for the response! I'm super squeamish and so I haven't looked at the wound directly, but my mother has and I believe it is a large open wound. I don't know if we know how deep. She was bleeding for quite some time, but it has since stopped and we were able to cover the wound with gauze...

    injured duck help!

Hi, I haven't yet seen the wound, but one of my ducks was attacked and is bleeding from her underside. We are applying pressure and have been told to use gauze. Any other suggestions for stopping the bleeding and then getting her to recuperate after the bleeding stops (hopefully!)?

    When does the a-laying stop?

Just got my first egg! It has been in the 20s and 30s overnight. Sun sets before 5pm. Maybe we will have eggs through the winter! My runners are 6 months old, almost exactly.

hawk attack - one duck with some mild injuries

So Phyllis seems to be doing well. The attack was on Saturday afternoon at 3:30pm, we kept her in the bath until 7:30pm and then put her out with her friends in their house. On Sunday, I brought Phyllis back inside to the bath and she stayed inside all day. We brought Mary and Rhoda in to...

hawk attack - one duck with some mild injuries

She just ate a few peas and I got her some electrolytes+vitamins+probiotics (rooster booster) to add to her bathwater and the water in their house.

hawk attack - one duck with some mild injuries

She only ate the peas at first. She threw those up. She has stopped eating. She has bouts of energy, but looks tired and listless now. How long should I keep her inside? She went back out to sleep with her friends, but maybe tonight I should keep her inside.

hawk attack - one duck with some mild injuries

They are Indian Runners ... I hope the same applies to them! Now I'm focusing on getting her some nutrients. The feed stores in this area are not open on Sundays and I don't have any electrolyte plus/vitamin stuff. So, things to feed her: gruel, sugar water?, apple cider vinegar in the...

hawk attack - one duck with some mild injuries

The problem is that my ducks don't like draining or running water, so it would freak her out to drain this bath and refill it. But in a few hours that will be necessary. Should I keep her in the bath for the next couple of hours and then return her to her house with her friends, or does she...
