Today we noticed that our barnevelder is missing feathers on the back of her neck. She hasn't been laying even though we have artificial lighting going, and she's a winter layer breed. She's 30 weeks old, to young to molt... Right??? We also noticed the tiniest drop of blood. can't see it in...

    1 week old treats?

Hi! I was wondering what you can feed to ur chicks at 1 week old beside water, and starter feed. Can I feed them grit, and worms, and salad? I know at 3 weeks people start to feed them fruit and yogurt, and I know whatever you feed them the main part of their diet has to be the starter feed...

Hi! Wondering if anyone knows about white marans and golden cuckoo marans. My question is: What breed has feathers [or as a chick, fluff] on it's legs/feet. Do both or only one? Thanks!

    Maran chick, roo or hen?

What type of maran is it? A black copper marans I guessing? Had a rooster of that breed. Did not start crowing early though. Started crowing at 20 weeks. Girls barely have any copper color though.

    Ameracauna Question

Um I'm not sure that's an EE. It looks totally like my Ameraucana hen. If it has those cheek feathers and the pea comb, most likely its a ameraucano. How old is it?

    Golden buff rooster???

I know it's super rare to have a golden buff rooster that's actually golden, but I think I might have one. It's so much bigger then the other golden buff hens, and these last couple of days I've been hearing sounds that sound like crows. I really can't tell by his walk since it has a limp, but...

    ? about a buff orpington

Oops sorry about that. Your right the buff orpington isn't a sex link. I got a little mixed up. Though if she's a golden bluff and she's golden it's a she right??? They were making some funny sounds but I now expect that it probably has something to do with there starting to lay. Just got our...
