She could be broody. They stopped laying when it started to get hot. No trauma or anything like that. She still lets me handle her and still 'talks' to me she just usually has to blow off some steam first. She never hurts me when she nips at my fingers or shoes and is always gentle.
So we have had these ducks and goose all together for more than a year and the white muscovy has been the sweetest little girl until the last few weeks. A few weeks ago she started being very aggressive toward the other duck and the goose and while she has only charged me once, she regularly...
Last night we found a lone chick roaming around the property and we took her in. She is a bit smaller and quite young. Today since she was all alone I dropped by the feed store and got a couple other pals that look like the one we found. The lady told me they were leghorns. What we have noticed...
We were using later crumbles and she would do it every so often. But we switched to an all flock to be able to feed our ducks and chickens the same instead of two different feeds since the ducks are now laying too. We will give the oyster shell a shot. What can be done to correct a vitamin d...
My little silkie hen has been a great little hen but lately she has been laying thin unshelled eggs. She has been laying eggs for the better part of a year and she isn't much more than a year and a half. We have been feeding all the girls the same feed and my rhode island red and my americauna...
Okay so in the last week or so the bees have been out and thats not normally a problem. But now they are all hovering around the feed for my ducks and goose. What causes this? Other than scaring my ducks from the feeder, they dont seem to be hurting anything. But there are quite a few of them...
So about a week ago we adopted these ducklings! They are muscovy ducklings and they are so sweet. However, After having them separated for a few days we allowed them to meet face to face and the goose was very social with them. Then when the goose went into the pool, one of the ducklings joined...
Okay, I can do that. Would that happen with all of them being female? Or is there a chance that my goose is a male and I didnt know it? I guess now I have to figure out how to tell that as well.
so a little while back we had lost one of our girls due to an unfortunate accident. This left us with one goose remaining. So a couple of days ago we brought home two ducks. They are muscovy female ducklings. right now we have them in their own little area that lets them be seen by our goose...
So we had a loss and now our goose is all alone and we are looking to get her some new pals but we are finding that at this time of year goslings are a bit impossible to find. But we have found that there are plenty of ducklings so would it be okay to introduce ducklings to out 9 week old goose...
So we had a loos the other day and we lost one of our girls. Now we have only one and we are looking to get her a few pals. We are wondering how to go about introducing three goslings to out 9 week old girl and what to look for anf any problems we may need to look for. Thanks!
I was looking at one of my girls yesterday and I noticed she had a goopy eye. It was a clear liquid discharge. Well today it's dried and doesn't seem to be leaking at all. But when I picked her up to look at her she drooled a bit and it was clear too. She isn't lethargic and appears to be eating...
I honestly dont know what breed I have. I know that the pair of them were hatched at the same time and they are the sweetest. They love their pool the best though. I got them from a CL ad that was right around the corner from my place. They like to be handled and I hope that goes a long way in...
My girls havent started laying yet. They are around 2-2.5 months. I got them from a lady that I work with that has a friend that runs a chicken rescue here in arizona. I guess we are just wondering if there was one that works bette. More than anything We are just wanting to learn what our next...
