She passed a couple hours ago. Wierd - she seemed fine a couple days ago, and everyone is doing fine. From the time I noticed her failing until she died was ~ 24hrs. Just pray she didn't have something contageous. I was thinking maybe she ingested something... No idea... Thanks for your... -

Thanks for the information, and your experience losing power is encouraging should our's goes out. You gave me an idea with your wood stove, as I have a portable kerosene heater, and if needed I guess I could fire it up in the basement beside the incubator. Temps here is supposed to be around... -

I too bought RBs from Skaff, and today is day #16 in the incubator. I ordered a doz, and he sent me 14. From what I could tell from pictures of his birds they are a nice looking dark/rich bourboun color. I'm looking forward to the hatch. Thanks for posting. -

Thanks for the information... We have a lot of fox in Northern VA, and a reason hunt clubs (fox hunting on horses) are so popular with the rich around here (I'm not included in the "rich" class). So tell me, what kind of traps do you have the most luck with and how many do you put out (traps)... -

run away turkeys????
Won't be a problem. I had my poults for 2-3 weeks and let them out and they stick around. They learn where their shelter, food & water supply is and know it is 'home'. Let them out. -

I use Dervet Poultry Vitamins & Electrolytes-M55 ($3.95 for 8 oz ordered from Cutler Supply). It's for poultry, swine, cattle, etc. Your coop should have it or any feed supply. One 8oz pack will be more than enough for you, and it's also good to suppliment during hot/cold weather or when you... -

I would keep them in the booder until they feather out and depending on the weather. It's warm in Virginia where I am, and the coop probably doesn't get below 70 at night, which would be fine for yours. Like I said, take them outside a couple times per day. Setup a temporary pen if possible...
