I got mine from Metzer...very happy ducklings who have grown up into laying machines!
It's kind of an odd time to get ducklings...they will be stuck in your house all winter until it gets warm in the spring...
Khaki campbells have been bred for high egg production. Think the leghorn of the duck world. They probably won't ever go broody. They were selected not to because a setting duck isn't a busy laying duck. You can incubate them on your own if you want babies, or stick them under any broody hen...
I've heard pekins lay pretty well also, so you may just see how good they are as a dual purpose bird. Plus then you can hatch your own replacement hens. I got welsh harlequin ducks for egg laying...so far they are machines! But this is their first year, so we shall see. They are a bit heavier...
Hello,
If anyone is in need of a nice black orp roo, I have an extra... I'll take a pic soon! He's out of blue/black/splash stock, enormous and gorgeous...

Hi!
I have a few really nice looking roosters hatched out this spring, I'd like to find homes for...

-Cuckoo Marans: still young but showing good potential.
-Black and Splash Ameraucana: some show quality...
Sorry I've never used a bolus, I just offer loose mineral in a tub...
I just love baby season!!! All these pics are so cute, and the barn is full of bouncing kids :) I can't imagine how teeny the ND are when born...like a puppy!
We do still have some Nubian kids without deposits...can't keep...

I'm sure it will take a while to grow back right. Glad he wont get beaten up at your house! Give a powder vitamin/mineral supplement and research a good variety of foods for him and eventually he'll be ok...
Morla loves the weeds we pick for her, she is a russian...constantly trying to provide...

Has anybody used this for a broody coop or to raise chicks in? It looks like it may be sort of tiny...http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B005MXUSFM/ref=mp_s_a_1_40?qid=1426348811&sr=8-40&pi=AC_SX110_SY165_QL70&keywords=rabbit+playpen#immersive-view_1426349006908
Anybody know a breeder on the west coast who ships eggs or chicks? Want nice looking birds but production is important too! Gotta pay the feed bills :)
I am going crazy I have fly strips in the house but there are way more flies in my house than out by the animals. I am raising baby chicks in the laundry room, but they aren't even hanging around them. How do you get rid of flies in the house? I can't put up a stink trap and the fly strips...
This is Mia...she came out of the pound in s.ca. She is part shar-pei, part pit. They found her in an area with lots of fighting rings. She had an imbedded collar and scabs all over when I got her, she weighed about 20# less than she should have... But...she is my baby now ;) I've had her for...
From what I've read they are only active dusk til dawn. The only time I've seen one was once when I was a teenager getting back from a concert in the wee hours, eek!
I just don't think there is any way they will budge on the dog thing...we have two now and they are even saying once my old dog...
How should you mt lion proof goats & poultry? Would a covered chainlink dog run do it? Or you'd need electric on top of that?
We are moving into a new place that is wooded and where they have mt lion...we have a 2 dog limit (rental) so no option of LGD...
Currently my plan is normal welded wire...
