im Most interested in:
BA mix
WLH mix

Do you guys think a 4x4 coop would be good for a few silkies? like maybe 5 at the most? I really miss my fluffy girls and am dying to get some new ones
I think I would like to try some Bearded Silkie eggs again this year since I don't have any left from last years hatch.
The colors I am interested in are:
1. Red/buff
2. Cuckoo
3. Splash
4. White
I don't care for the blacks and wouldn't mind the blues, it's just rare that I find a Blue...
ha, of course
i was thinking like a couple feet high. my grandmother wanted flower beds so they would need to be tall enough so she wouldnt have to do much bending.
they might fly but hopefully they wont start climbing the walls of the run like spiders, lol
Has anone done raised beds around their coop? did it work well and keep the chickens from munching on everything?
I really like the way they look and was thinking about doing it but thought i should ask & see how its worked for other people first. Thanks everyone.
I've never seen a glod of blood vessels before, but on our last hatch we left her in the incubator for 2 days so she could dry off and get used to her new world. we did put a little bit of food and water in too though.
it's so cute, what breed?
Glad to hear so much good stuff about the BA's!! She's a Kepper!
My SLW is a bit of a brat, but shes so cute I'm thinkin she might have to go along with the rest.
Oh! Oh! I want eggssss
if they're Muscovy...maybe I can sneak them in under my GC duck hen before she starts to sit....I'm not sure if the incubating thing is gonna work out for me .
what colors and how much for a dozen? do you have any pictures? I really want at least 1 true barred Muscovy.
I am thinking of keeping the BA and SLW hens i have but i'm not positive on it yet. It's their first year and i know i've got some slackers in the coop. If anyone has any experience with how good of layers these breeds are it would be much appreciated..I know my others are laying faithfully now...
ETA: How much space does 1 bird require in a coop?
I have a 4x4 coop already built, It has 2 roost bars and a large nesting box (was supposed to be 2 but i messed up and didn't wanna re-do). I do plan on adding 2 more boxes on the outside of the house. I plan on putting it on stilts in the...
Here's some pictures of the girl in question...they're a little bit blurry but she just wouldnt hold still for long. It is the same way on both sides, it doesnt look as yucky as it did the other day, but its still weird.
-nest boxes
-chicken door
-roosts
-windows maybe?
if you don't have a ton of chickens you might be able to make part of it for storage, that would be really cool!
like maybe the front half with the doors and wall off the back half & add a door to get in, collect eggs and clean it up. There is...
