I had a similar problem and I used terramycin because it was all they had at the local feed and seed. It worked fine and the chicken recovered fully. Good luck.
So sorry for your loss. I think its sad but the dog is just following its instincts. My dogs have done it to my chickens. Unfortunately they need to be trained to resist their instincts before they get the taste of chicken.
First, cute chicks!
Second, if its worm outside and you are there to protect them then it sould be fine to let them have some playtime outside.
