Out of my 30 pens use a drip board in all but 4 of them. I believe it is healthier for our birds to not be messing around in their overnight droppings. By using this system of boards it allows for more space for the birds to scratch etc in the building. Each board has hinges so you can lift...
Just curious as to who you got your Rose Comb Rhode Island Whites from? I have a pretty large flock of them and there are not that many breeders out there in the breed.
Yes...just looking for an easy way to do it. With over 300 chickens and 200 of them are breeders it takes for ever to go one by one. I was hoping to find a non-with hold kind of wormer but I guess I'll just do my ivomec like I have for years.
So what would you recommend to use? the .23ML 0.9 ml makes zero sense to me but 1/4 teaspoon or eye dropper does. Never understood that kind of measuring.
Yes you can use cattle pour on. It gets all worms, lice and mites. I use 3 drops per bird around the vent area is where I put it. They say you have to hold all egg sales if you use it. Guess that is up to you to do that.
Rob Newburn here from Idaho. Been eons since we have chatted about Reds. How are you doing? I rarely get on this site but would love to chat about reds. can always get me at my e-mail address [email protected]
I have some young males available. They are Underwood and Carlow lines. To bad I did not see this sooner my buddy from Tacoma area was just here and picked up some Cream Legbars from me. Now if you were into Rose Comb Rhode Island Whites???? I could really help you with those. Very rare breed...
Yes most are correct. What I see, being a Columbian Wyandotte breeder, are commercial birds. I'm not trying to be mean in my comments just letting you know what I am seeing. If your goal is to raise some show quality birds, well, these are not show quality. They lack true Columbian Wyandotte...
There are several things you can do to mark the chicks the first couple of weeks. A good friend in Australia uses permanent markers as the come out of the incubator/hatcher. And that seems to work really well for her. She toe punches them but the marker on top of the head is a quick ID that...
I tried to up load some info but could not get it to go. The one I sent you about spiral breeding and line breeding is really good and what most poultry breeders do with adaptations to their own needs.
Looking at what the program does, I would say it is way more complicated than what you need. You can accomplish the same kind of goals by using an excel spread sheet. Line breeding or spiral breeding in poultry is not that complicated and you can end up with the same kind of goals you want. I...
