Do you think it could be under nourishment? I take layer feed and cut it in half with corn since roosters dont need nearly as much protein. And do you think unripe mulberries could poison them? Though my hens are eating them and havent noticed my roosters eating them at all. Or even im thinking...
As did I. :) I have rasied ducks and tend to eat the roosters as well. But my hens live good long lives. I know humans ca get cocci but its different strains of it then what chickens get. I cant wait to grt my own place to start raising all my own meat milk and eggs. :)
Ah yes well I have been giving them 9.5cc per gallon since day 1. Ive been making about 3 gallons each day and since they free range have 3 different waterers around the yard that I clean out and put fresh in every morning.
Well the rooster last night didnt. He just seemed like he couldnt walk this morning was found off the porch with his legs up in the air. Then about 2 hours later got up and walked away. But this cant be the case for all of them. Due to actually finding one dead inside his run and another one...
Well he is drinking now. I had said how he actually got up about 1hr 20min ago and hes walking around eating grass and drinking. But last night he couldnt walk at all. He wouldnt eat or drink anything. Im just worried that its some sort of disease that my roosters are going to pass onto my...
That was straight corid but right after I gave them water with the syringe. And you really think so? I made sure they were swallowing. I know though with 2 of them they had liquid food and liquid just in general coming out of his mouth. The one I propt his mouth open because I thought he might...
Hello nope no algae I clean water dishes and contoainers at least once a week. And my roosters that have died before this have had very liquid diarrhea. Uf the rooster right now has had really thick normal looking poop. He also got up 20 min ago walked around and drank some of the cats water.
Not sure what my roosters have that is causing them to flop over on their sides then not be able to walk. Then they die with in a few hours. I thought it was cocci since my hens have that. But when I forced 1ml of corid down their throats then fed them some and gave them water they died within...
I have a rooster actually several one every day in the past week who when I see them they are flopped over on their sides not able to walk and dont try to get away when I pick them up and also wont drink or eat anything. My hens have cocci so I assumed my roosters also have also had cocci so I...
I realize cocci is a parasite in the intestine eating away at the walls. From what I understand almost all chickens have cocci but when they get too much of it you must treat them with say corid to bring the levels to a place where the chickens can handle it. So I would assume that as long as...
:) thats wonderful news! :) I had another question. Is it possible yo have cocci, gapeworms or however its spelled, and a congestion problem (lots of sneezing, weezing, liquid diarea, and bubbles in eyes) all at the same time. My chickens have several problems all at the same time. One even had...
