I got my question answered. Was at the store Saturday and they had medicated and nonmedicated chick feed. Wasn't sure what I wanted so I got the nonmedicated. They will be in the laundry room until big enough to go outside. I guess the next bag I will get the medicated.

I don't think this is crazy at all. Talking with the local deputy after my mailbox was smashed he said that cameras are getting more popular in the rural areas. I plan to install some to monitor the driveway. Having one on the coop wouldn't be a bad idea either.

Hinges are great. My coop will have the two ends hinged for easy cleaning access. The nesting boxes will have a hinges floor also.

I get free pallets from ACE hardware. Pick them up by the trailer load. The idea of the blocks and OSB should work too. If it was me. I would use some pallets stacked on top of the blocks and the just screw them to the existing walls. This should give you alot of added strength...
