    Akbash Dogs or Maremma sheepdogs are found to be the best for flock protection. We have a Maremma which we bought as a pup and it protects our sheep and chooks from preditors. They are a very smart dog and when she lays there the chooks sit on her with no fuss.

    best brand of chicken feed?

    here in Aus i"m using golden yolk grains (not pellet version) and my girls love it but i also grow sprouts and grow silverbeat and spinich. i mix it up so they get there fresh greens and suppliment with seeds. The flavour of the eggs and colour of the yolk is amazing.

    on my farm we allow our chooks to forrage in the open grass paddocks which has a mixture of legumes , wheat rye oats grass clover during the day and also feed them sprouts spinich silverbeat and sunflower seeds and veggie scraps from the house. the flavour of the eggs is amazing.
