My little one are very happy. One of my 6week old got very upset for some reason and started pecking the 1 week olds so I pulled her out and cuddled her for a bit and she's fine now. Her sister is mothering the two babies she sitting on them but she's just a baby herself so she cant quit cover...
I have 5 Dobermans, two cats, my chickens, a house bunny, two 6 week old chicks, 2 1 1/2 week old chicks, 2 dozen eggs in the bator. We are getting slammed with snow right now so im extremely worried that if I lose electricity my hatchwill die and their due to hatch in a week. I got my little...
I did have to get my husband to build a huge run because we got two foxes running around. My husband got the one and he's been hunting the other one. As soon as he gets it I'll be able to let them out again. I got 27 acres of mountain land so they have lots of room. I got one of my dogs loose...
You have been a huge help. Thank you so much. Ive trained all my chickens to come to me when called cause I always bring a treat. This is for their saftey if I need them to come quick. As soon as I hollar "where's my girls" the come running as fast as there legs can carry them : ). Im sad about...
But thats what I cant figure out. No signs whatsoever. Oh I also felt for maybe an impact egg on both but there was nothing. Unless someone can offer another explination I guess I have to assume you are right on sexlinks suddenly dying and that I will be losing the others soon
They never showed any signs of stress. They are all happy and I give extra attention to them as they were severely debeaked. They eat beautifully as I put their food (laying pellet) in a bowl for easier eating as they cannot peck at the ground. The are all very trusting of me and come when...
I bought 6red sexlinks about two months ago. I have lost two in the last four days. They show absolutely no signs of sickness not even so much as a runny nose. They did have lice and one died before treatment. I have dusted and sanitized everything and ive always cleaned my coop everyday. Ive...
Thank you. Its definitely lice there a straw/white color. The hen that died must have died from anemia because I can findno reason for the death. I felt her butt for a ppossible impact egg but there was none. Not so much as a scratch on her. This evening when I saw the one hen with them there...
Bless you and thank you so much for your quick reply. Im worrying myself half to death. My other chickens (roos included) I found no sign of even one bug but treated everyone anyway. All of them show no sign of any sickness. They are bright eyed and always extremely happy. Ive never found one...
Ok so I feel horrible and the biggest idiot. I bought 6 red sexlinks several weeks ago and didn't think of checking for bugs. I have many other chickens and im very diliget in keeping my coop spotless. I clean it every single day and do a full scrub down once a month. Anyway I bought these...
I have 3 roos and plenty of hens for them. I have no problems at at all. All 3 boys respect each other and know their pecking order places. One roo can only handle approx. 15 hens.
I hope im in the right section. Anyway I have 17 laying/pet chickens so I am familiar with keeping chickens. However I made mention to my husband how insanely beautiful the phoenix is and how I wouldn't mind having a pair to show in our local fair. Well I just found out he has purchased me as a...
Anyone have any ideas: baby was injured during the catching process of the birds. What i can't figure out is where she's damaged. Wings seem to be in tact, legs don't seem to cause pain when moved, tendons seem to be in tact (no swelling). She does have a blue spot on one leg at the joint and...
I just read a thread on here about rescued broilers and found out that baldness is the result of their bodies grow faster than the feathers and she possibly can live 3 yrs.
I don't know how to post a pic. Her poop looks nothing like that pic. The brown water had some white in it (no foam and not oily) and like two or three little dark things in it and she is pooping twice a day. I'm sure she still has a lot of that craphormone food in her.
Her poop is brown water but the towel i had her on made her stomach very hot. I switched to a sheet and its much cooler. Plus she wouldn't eat the cracked corn and oats so i mixed egg and shell with it and she ate every bit of it. She didn't eat for about 24 hours but she drank water.
I'm already attached. I think she is simply wonderful and i think she trust me. I keep her by my side at all times. Gonna take her outside tomorrow. She's never been in grass or the sun so hopefully she will be more motivated to get better.
