The camera has full pan/tilt capability. It probably will be in a slightly different position each time. A camera in the run will be the next improvement. The silkie does not move around much. She is very shy.
Hello all,
Just an update we got our first egg ever today. We noticed it on our chicken cam and could not wait to get home to investigate. It was in the far right nesting box. I will post pictures in another thread soon. If anyone looks at the cam and sees an egg let me know!! These cameras are...
Tina got her second haircut this afternoon. Thought y'all might be interested in a few pictures of her new do. Like I said previously, the haircuts have given her a new personality. We were able to go two weeks between cuts. I'm sure if we cut it short as some of you have we could go longer, but...
I just wanted to give an update on our silkie, Tina. We gave her a "haircut" on Thursday of last week and are amazed at her transition! Previously, she would sit in the same place all day without moving except to occasionally hobble to time food and water. She would not go in or out the coop on...

Here is a picture of the coop and run while still in the building stage. I previously posted about our building of the coop and run with more pictures and information if you would like to go to my profile and check it out.
We received a silkie hen a little over a week ago. She is not laying yet (maybe 5 months old). She doesn't do much except sit in the coop all day long without hardly moving. We have taken her out a few times and put her in the run. We will come out a few hours later (after dark), and she is...
How were they acting before vs after the hair cut? We have a newly introduced Silkie to our flock and she moves around very little. She will sit in the middle of the coop for hours at a time. Should I trim around her eyes or could there be a different problem. She is approximately 17 weeks old...
These two chickens are approximately 16 weeks old from what we can tell. We received them about a month ago. Any ideas on breed or gender? Not sure they are exactly the same breed since one has feathered feet and the other one does not.
We have three other hens. Two bantam EE and a...
Yes it was probably still light outside. They are in for the night now. Usually they go into the coop around 7:30 central time. Thanks for the interest.
Hey karlamaria,
It is a Foscam. Mine is an indoor model with pan/tilt capabilities. I have had it for a couple months and no problems so far. Their are many varieties just depends how much you want to pay. I can't remember the exact model numer but it was the second "best" one.
Hey all. We traded in four of our roosters for three hens. We believe we have received an easter egger, black marans, and a black copper/brown red marans. Check them out on the camera. They may be out in the run when you look so check back later if you want.
Our chicks are now 7.5 weeks old and are starting to get quite the personality. We have 6 chicks and not positive of the breeds but have come up with some guesses based on advice and research (2 easter eggers, 2 millie fleur d'uccle, 2 silkie/d'uccle mix).
As for gender we are starting to take...
This is the first time we have heard any attempt at loud clucking and crowing from our chicks. They are approximately 8 weeks old. Please check out the video on YouTube here: Also you can see the chicks anytime on my live Chicken Cam! Check out my other post, click the link, type in the...
