I have a pine tree in my back yard. and was thinking about useing the pine needles for the chicken coop . Are pine needles good to use with chicken or will they harm the chickens ?

I just got a hen. well she came to me found her under my porch .. but anyways I have not been able to build her a good home before it got cold. so right now she is in a dog cage which is a big one. but I am in love with her and when it gets warm iam going to build her a perment home in my yard...
