Good to see you back. I've been away for a long time too. Just too lazy to work with the new format and some personal things going on as well.
Glad to hear you are still working with young people. Our society is so chaotic these days; teaching them a useful skill is rewarding for you...
Cynthia, I'm thinking about making a bed runner. How big is yours and have you posted a picture of it? I've been away from BYC and the computer for a while, so I haven't seen the past posts here. I didn't realize that bed runners were so popular until recently. I'm working on one that...
"All sarcasm aside, yeah, I know I'm being a jerk and being a coward by not communicating with them. But you know what? I feel safe being imperfect here at BYC. Very grateful to all those here that put up with me."
You are beating yourself up for nothing. These people don't deserve any...
I've read that bedbugs have even been found in hospital furniture, cloth lounge chairs, etc. I would then think that they can get into cloth chairs in doctors' offices, clinics, or any public furniture. Even expensive hotels have had the problem with so many foreign travelers these days...
These quilts are gorgeous! How did I miss this thread? You and Speckledhen are so fast on these large quilts. It takes me forever to make a lap quilt. I also have a sunbonnet Sue small quilt that I finally finished 10 years later!!
I agree, rancher hicks. There's a lot of cheerleading out there but I choose to believe Jimmy Rogers, financial analyst. Just today it was announced that Morgan Stanley is laying off 580 in NYC. Every day it seems a company is downsizing.
The new unemployment claims were announced today...
Someone mentioned Kresges. When I was a kid there was a 5 & dime store on the corner in Plymouth, Michigan. My mother and our neighbor grocery shopped together and would stop in at the counter for pie and coffee. This store had the most delicious homemade food. I think it was a Kresge...
Love it--great cast and I like them all, even DiNozzo but he drives me crazy sometimes. Standing over a body cracking jokes is very unprofessional to me. (Gibbs told DiNozzo's father that DiNozzo is the best special agent that he's had!) I like McGee's relationship with Abby--his...
I haven't shopped at Kmart in years because there is only one 50 miles away. It is located away from other stores, too.
At the summer sale, I picked up great bargains--maybe that's why they are closing stores. The last week of the sale I bought the cutest outfits for my little...
We all have MIA relatives. DH is the main dishwasher when the sons/family visit; it is his sweet way of helping me out while I cook, etc. Fortunately for me, my sons' chores were washing dishes and mowing lawns, so they also have the dishpan hands in my family when they visit (no dishwasher...
Quercus21, I love genealogy too. Family stuff is just sitting there waiting to be discovered.
I find more things locally. My great-grandfather committed suicide about 1931, I think. (I found a copy of his death certificate) One relative said he died of a heart attack on the street...
I play a little. I took piano lessons years ago but rarely play the Casio keyboard that I have. We always had a piano when I was growing up. Dad's family was very musical but I don't think we inherited much. Even his mother played the guitar, father the banjo, brother guitars and fiddle...
I love what I have seen so far--I will read the rest of the posts later.
Years ago, actually decades, we were out riding on a Sunday afternoon in the Seattle area and in a junk store window was an ugly pembroke table painted yellow. DH want back after work on Monday and bought it for $5...

I agree with Pokey; I would be furious. Isn't it always that a perpetrator gets mad at the victim!
I worry about the future of this country, especially after seeing the mobs on the news trying to buy the new tennis shoes. The future DNA doesn't look promising!
I have searched for two days looking for this recipe. I pulled out the drawer and found it a few minutes ago. It had fallen out the back of the drawer. We really like this quick recipe.
1 package (16 ounces) spaghetti
1 pound ground beef
1 med. onion, choppedL
1 jar (26 ounces) meatless...
That is a great piece. I would contact Antiques Roadshow. It may have been made just for your step-grandfather by a friend. Even so, it is unique. Don't you just love the mystery of it, though?
