Where Are My Piano Players!!!!!!

Okay, I need to vent !!! I am so sick and tired of the high class, socially relevant, holier then thou piano players that become jealous when I say I am learning the first arabesque by ear !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Or any other piano comp. that is really too difficult for a beginner to start with. I am not trying to sound like I am up on myself but, I am finding it easy to learn the piano, probably because I love it so much !!!

but these people that are getting jealous because I might progress quicker than they did are getting on my nerves!!!!!!

. I thought that these were supposed to be intellectuals, I thought these people were supposed to be tolerant, and understanding !!!! But all I have gotten in most cases is some smart remark about how I could not possibly learn the comp. without any prior experience!!!!!!

. I dont really need encouragement, but I certainly don't need slander !!!!!!

. Anyway, sorry if it feels as if I am dumping on you all but I just needed to get my thought out. God bless.

I certainly applaud your efforts and your love of the piano. Keep at it! It will only bring you rmore joy. I have been playing the piano since i could sit up. My mother had a music degree and could play anything and we always had music/piano/organ in our house. I have a parlor/music room now in our home with the Baldwin Acrosonic that she learned to play on (as well as me and my sister and my children) and an antique pump organ and also her Kurzweil digital grand piano. I have over the years played while I was in school, played for groups, weddings, graduations, for my kids' school groups, was a church organist, anything that came along, and still just love to play for nobody but me as well.

Please don't let anyone discourage you.

I play a little. I took piano lessons years ago but rarely play the Casio keyboard that I have. We always had a piano when I was growing up. Dad's family was very musical but I don't think we inherited much. Even his mother played the guitar, father the banjo, brother guitars and fiddle, and dad could play about five instruments, some better than others. He could only play chords on the piano.

Music was a big part of the family when my parents grew up in the south--just a radio and the music the relatives provided. Dad's cousin, Lawton Williams, wrote a hit around 1956 or '57. I regret that I didn't have my kids involved more with music. It takes discipline and dedication to learn an instrument.

So nice to hear your story country lady, I grew up around a lot of music. No one in my family played anything but piano, but we always had some music playing. On a side note, the more I listen to it the more I want to learn how to play the second arabesque!

It reminds of the robins, goldfinches, and bluejays that would flutter around at the old home place

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh such fond memories .

I am also thinking of writing my own composition. I think it would be a great experience, and really fun to do!

I am thinking something light and jumpy, nothing too deep and meaningful yet

. But who knows where the music will lead

. And to whom it may concern this is the link to the second arabesque :

sometimes the comments are hurtful but then I remember who and what I play for and those comments seem to become obscured in the background. That is my dream for my future house is to have a talent room full of painting stuff and instruments for enjoyment. Around where I come from it is odd for a twenty year old to be interested in art and music ( especially classical music). So I have my fair share of ridicule, but also what I have found is a greater sense of longing for heaven and things of a beautiful nature, respect for life, closeness to God, and a greater peace in life in general; and with everything that has been going on the past three years I need this greatly. I have also found out that music and art can connect people, give us all some common ground that seems so hard to find in society. Or maybe music is just noise, and painting is just color. I choose not to accept the latter. So, to me, music and painting are more than just sound and random color, but a picture of something that cannot be photographed.

I took lessons for about 6 months but then my tutor moved away and I never got another one. I can read music but always had trouble with the foot pedal while I was playing. I would love to take lessons again but I just don't have time right now.

I mess around with it. I have two keyboards and an upright. I started on the keyboards with the "light up" keys to show you where to hit. I have half learned Fuer Elise, Sonata Pathetique, Canon, and a few other classics. I do enjoy it!

ME!!!! I play piano!!!!!! We had a upright piano that was left in our house when we bought it like 12 years ago. We removed it tho, it was in terrible shape. It must have weighed 600 pounds or more.
We now have one of those super large fancy pants keyboards. It looks likes a piano. Has digital computer built in. I am teaching my 4 year old daughter to play. I feel once you master piano....everything else...... is easily learned. just imo.
