Hen partially paralyzed by lice infestation, will she return to normal?

I have a hen who I discovered was very sick from a lice infestation. I separated her, treated her and have been feeding and watering her basically by force. She sleeps all the time, and if she tries to walk, she stumbles or kind of flails around, as if blind? her head is usually pointed up, she...

Stick chicken, slept all day, feels hot

Oh, and one of hens eyes seems to now be swollen shut. I've managed to get some food and water into her beak, but is there anything else I can do for her?

Stick chicken, slept all day, feels hot

Thank you, but do you leave the powder in with new bedding, or try to wash it out first? Sorry, but the package has no instruction, except not to put it near food, water, etc, breathe it, etc..,

Stick chicken, slept all day, feels hot

I dusted her last night with permethrin. She is in a separate cage, not looking at all well. How do I go about dusting the rest? Specifically, do I clean out all the bedding first, and then dust coop? And what do I do with the old lice and mite infested litter? I don't really want to dump on my...

Stick chicken, slept all day, feels hot

No. I have diatomaceous earth that I use in the coop, and I just dusted her bum with it, as everything is closed at this hour. And do I understand correctly that if I can see them they are not mites? Lice perhaps?

Ok, she totally had mites crawling around her vent. I didn't see them before, but now with bright flashlight I do. Now what?

Stick chicken, slept all day, feels hot

I have a hen that I recently got with 9 others. She is a Maran and never got off her perch this am. She let me pick her up, and just kind of kept sleeping. I fed her a tiny bit of scrambled yolk and some water with acv in it. She wasn't interested in either but managed to get a little in her...

EE hen losing neck and belly feathers, seemed broody, but now just sick - please help

Ok, so here is the update. She is eating really well. Acting mostly normal. Pooping but not laying. I'm not sure what to do next. Hoping she isn't laying just from the stress of feeling unwell? She is still in a crate in our bathroom. It's warmed up so I'm thinking of returning her to the coop...

EE hen losing neck and belly feathers, seemed broody, but now just sick - please help

She's been bathed and blown dry, and is in a cozy cat carrier. Poo looks normal, and she is eating - feeding her yogurt plus the usual scratch and layer feed in case she is not getting enough calcium. She pecked at me when I tried to pet her tonight, so I am taking that as a good sign. Fingers...

EE hen losing neck and belly feathers, seemed broody, but now just sick - please help

Her crop seems empty, and I checked her vent and it seems normal, other than that lots of feathers are missing and its matted and yucky, unlike her healthy sister that I am comparing her too. (This was my first time checking a vent internally, so I hope I did ok) She does have what looks like...

EE hen losing neck and belly feathers, seemed broody, but now just sick - please help

I have an ee hen, Banilla, that successful hatched a chick over the summer. I thought she was going broody again (puffed up, sitting in a box all day, pecking at me when I would try to move her), and I thought she was nuts, because it's January and we are in Wisconsin. When I got a closer look...

Post Pics Of Your Chicken With Worst Molt

So happy to have found this, my poor hens are sick of me blue-coating them, as I thought they were pecking each other to death. Live and learn.

New to hatching using the Broody Hen method.

We finally have a chick! Just one, but mama brought her off the nest so we removed the rest. Wasn't really looking to double my flock anyway and am so happy she got her baby!

New to hatching using the Broody Hen method.

Sooo, it has been about 24 days now, since our hen decided to sit on a nest of eggs. We left her alone in her nesting box for the first 2 and a half weeks, and during that time had a number of hens sharing her box, so I expected a staggered hatch, but, I thought we would have a chick by now...
