Help! Mother sheep died of two lambs I purchased.

I was not willing to risk my current lamb health, given that the mother died suddenly even though she was "perfectly healthy." It was my own personal decision based upon my circumstances, I don't appreciate judgement. It wasn't my word that was bad, he failed to deliver on time and hid from me...

Help! Mother sheep died of two lambs I purchased.

Just got my money back after quite a bit of arguement, as I was leaving the wife said "Your money is worth more that your word! Take that with you!" No clue what that was supposed to mean, LOL.

Help! Mother sheep died of two lambs I purchased.

I purchased two lambs from a private local farm, all very healthy and well taken care of. I was scheduled to pick up the lambs Sunday, but he asked me to wait until today. When I called today, he wanted me to wait until Sunday because the mom had 'eaten too much grass' and got diahrrea from...

    Alternative feed for alfalfa

Turns out I'm allergic to alfalfa. So when I go to feed my sheep, pigs and rabbits.... I end up with hives, sneezing, wheezing etc. I really want to find an alternative that I can grow here on the farm. I free range the sheep and pigs during the day, but I think I'll need something more for...

    Getting started Gluten Free

Welcome. :) I'm GF as well, although honestly my girls aren't on a pure GF diet... mostly you have to make the mix yourself and its almost always 3x as expensive. I let all of them free range (with my goats and pigs) in the pasture, and only supplement a little egglayer/scratch mix at night.

    RABBIT COLONY

I have two unrelated female rabbits, they occasionally wrestle but they've never drawn blood. They're both under a year, not sure if that makes a difference.

After spending some time with the today I'm wondering if they have a cold or something. A few have runny poo and my roo is sneezing a little.

17 Hens - how many eggs?

They get a mix of 75% egg crumble to 25% scratch. They go out when I get up for work typically 5 - 6 am. My mom thinks the could be laying outside, if so I haven't been able to find the hiding spot yet.

17 Hens - how many eggs?

So now I'm only getting a couple eggs a week instead of two a day. Could it be I'm not giving them enough feed? They freerange during the day and I feed them seed at night. I've also been sure to let them out at dawn and they come in by themselves at night. Could they be sick? I'm not seeing...

I just panicked and kicked a possum in the face.

Kudos, that's awesome... what I wanted to do for the baby possum before it was murdered so cruelly. :(

I just panicked and kicked a possum in the face.

Raccoons and rats are a completely different story... they're devious little things. Fortunately for me we don't have many around here. Possums aren't vicious just for fun, and like you said... if your coop is well built you shouldn't have any issues. I mean... if you do happen to have some...

I just panicked and kicked a possum in the face.

I'm sorry but I have to agree. I saw a baby possum orphaned when the mother was taken away by animal control, the poor thing was so tiny. It hid under my porch and I was keeping an eye on it. Few days later my neighbor comes running and screaming with a shovel and bludgeons it to death. I was...
