Turns out I'm allergic to alfalfa.

So when I go to feed my sheep, pigs and rabbits.... I end up with hives, sneezing, wheezing etc. I really want to find an alternative that I can grow here on the farm. I free range the sheep and pigs during the day, but I think I'll need something more for the rabbits.

Ideas?

Are you buying alfalfa bales now? I can't think of anything that would substitute alfalfa, but I do have this jug of alfalfa that you can pour onto/into feed dishes. That way you aren't actually touching the stuff since it's in a plastic container. But I don't know if that would work if the wind blew it in your face.

They do make timothy based pellets for rabbits they're just hard to find. Peaches's comment is a good suggestion too. Otherwise for bales just get the grass hay kind.
