    What breed(s) to start with?

I named mine things like Ham and Bacon, Tandoori, etc :) I sent my hogs out for processing, I enjoyed them while I had them and knew they had a way better life than if they had been on a feedlot. I think it is good to know where our food comes from, how it is raised and to really appreciate...

    Brooder size for 20 bantams?

Have 20 bantam chicks due April 1. How large of a brooder will I need to raise them until they are feathered and can go out into the coop? These will be my first chickens in about 8 years, and I am building a very secure coop and run for them, but was unsure of brooder size. Thanks!

Thanks for showing this. I am planning to do the same thing. I was going to leave one shelf in place to set the lamp on (it will also be secured to top of cage) Enjoy your chicks, mine are due April 1 :)

I bought him from a friend the day she hatched him. I raised him on a game bird feed, held him, two teen daughters doted on him. I have heard that a single male is more friendly than a single female... we didn't know what he was for a year or so, and then we ummmm, saw *him* lol You need a...

Building coop for bantams - Question about roost/poop shelf placement

Oh, and I am in Missouri! US has odd state abbreviations, MO is Missouri. Our weather is nothing like Montana, I would freeze to death myself there.

Building coop for bantams - Question about roost/poop shelf placement

The birds will free range most of the time in a large (over half an acre securely fenced) pen along with the goats. I have vents that I will be installing along with the doors for access and a chicken door. I am hoping my husband will fall in love with them so much that more coops will be...

    Hi from Hillsboro, MO
