ABSOLUTELY - NO - water whatsoever during the whole process!
TOTALLY thrilled!
Now...off to guinea eggs...
got 5 chickens trying to sell.....
and got first set of 11 guinea eggs.....goin in the incubator tonight!!!!
found that the best way for my hatching is to ignore humidity completely....if they have been turnin automatically then they should hatch in that position....versus laying down

first ever success at hatching!.....dry incubation and dry hatch!.......that is...
YAY!!!....just had the ONE AND ONLY baby hatch!....and what a chirping storm it is brewing!!......SUCCESS!!
went dry incubation AND primarily dry hatch.....SUCCESS!.....so got 7 more eggs due for lockdown on the 7th.....will see how they are 'growin' shortly!
Cant seem to get an egg to hatch......
Slim chance the chick makes it to lockdown....the rest are gone by day 14 or 18.....
Any idea whats goin on??????????????
chickydee64 .... none were alive in the hatcher. I am trying to figure out what went wrong but am having no luck.....got to put 4 more in the hatcher tomorrow....but they dont look to be alive in the bator from candling....need to dig deeper for more info...lol
well, had 2 in the hatcher. before puttng in the hatcher, one was for sure alive but the other was a question.
Both did not internlly pip. Today was day 22.
Putting 4 more in the hatcher tomorrow....will need to make adjustments somehow....
now pics.....
same egg....it is the egg that was unsure if it was alive before puting into hatcher....
this one had the dry membrane but it looks 'wet' as the camera captured it as such....It also had fluid that was 'movin' around when the egg was turned...it was not the birdie...
so, checked them......one was alive for certain before putting in hatcher.....one was unsure.
experimented today....both are dead....
shoulda took pics of the first 'eggtopy'.....(the one that was alive for sure..)
will post pics in a few.....
New to incubation..... When I candled the eggs on day 17 to cull, I noticed that one looked like it was not as progressed as the others. I took it out to do an eggtopy and it was still alive and breathing....but size was much smaller than the others in their egg.
In other batchs, some eggs are...
no hint of hatching.....the temp is stable at 99 on wire and 100-101 on top of both eggs. No pip of shell, no rolling, nothing....humidity is a bit fluctuating at 65. once i know it went down to 55 ish.
on day 22 now.....
So I culled the eggs thought not to be good. One of the two still had a growing birdie in it but it was not as big and not taking up as much space as the other two....it was still alive too...I felt bad but it had been in there same timeframe so it probably had stunted growth for some reason...
puzzling my mind....
1 - should the egg internal pip before putting in the hatcher no matter the day ?
or
2 - put in hatcher on right day even if not internal pip?
reason for asking....some put eggs in bator no matter the pip status....others wait. Whats the advantage of either?
my...
a few of mine (very first hatch ever run) into lockdown either tonight (after midnight) or tomorrow night....but gotta get sleep so I can work tomorrow!

Just candled the eggs.....
Batch 1
egg A - died by or around day 10 - cull tonight
egg B - promising but not so much....will put in hatcher anyways
egg C - We Got LIFE!!!...saw that baby move!
egg D - died by or around day 10 - cull tonight
so.....should one wait to put the egg in the hatcher...
YAY!!!....any success with your hatches gimmie birdies?
i am on day 17 for the first 4....day 18 starts just after midnight (when I actually put the first 4 eggs in the bator because it was a saturday!!)
2 of the 4 in the first batch are no longer growing...i think they stopped at day 10 or...
