Thanks for the support guys! I appreciate it.
Should I make the space between the legs smaller? that was hard to gauge because this chick is larger/heavier than the one in the pictures on the "band-aid guide".
I took some close up digital pics - - only I don't recall how to post them here....
can someone pls tell me how to do this?
I really don't want to put her/him down if I don't have to...
18 out of 20 (mixed home raised) chicks hatched. 17 out of the 18 are healthy and fine.
One chick I thought had splayed leg problems - so I braced/hobbled according to pic by pic directions- 2 days ago.
Still no change.
Hydrating with sugar water several times per day. (just to be certain, as...
We hatched 18 chicks (home raised brahmas, americaunas and couple others) and have one chick that looked like it had spraddle leg - although they are on textured paper towels.
So I followed the band-aid hobble suggestion that I found thru this website....no success - he/she is still not trying...
so far 16 out of 20 have hatched, and more have pipped.
You guys are right - patience is all it takes. After some hatched the humidity started to go up on it's own too. Condensation was showing this morning on the windows of the bator - where as last night - it seem too dry.

Last year it was easier. We had our girls raise them. This winter we lost those broody...
We have 20 eggs hatching . At least 1/2 have pipped, in different stages. Using Hova-Bator, with the water dishes under the wire tray. Maintaining temp at 100. Dishes full.
However, one or two are showing signs of chick stress (LOUD peeping) and they pipped 1st thing this am. No addtional...
Our mixed group of eggs are due to hatch the 27th of this month.
Having a bit of difficulty with keeping the temp steady... using a digital thermometer than been proven effective.
Temp usually is 100 - 100.5. Sometimes however, for unknown reasons lately it elevates to 104! yikes... don't want...
Hello.
We have 2 hand raised white full size, Brahma roosters. (Mostly white with black around the neck and tail. I will try to get pics loaded soon. These 2 are "brothers" so they can be taken together, if desired.
We are located in Northern Virginia- near the West VA and Maryland borders...
