Strange white "spots" inside egg--what is it??

Any thoughts? I'm anxious to know because I need to bake with the remaining eggs I have here and I'm wondering if they're safe to eat?! Need to know if I should trek to the store to buy some or use the eggs I have?!

    Egg Pimples INSIDE Egg?

I'm having the exact same issue. There weren't many replies to this thread or thoughts so I'm bumping it in the hopes of somebody seeing it and shedding some light. My main question--are the eggs safe to eat? Is it a sign of a bigger problem or sick bird?

Strange white "spots" inside egg--what is it??

What I saw was a cluster of teeny whiteish dots. It looked like what this person posted, https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/767787/egg-pimples-inside-egg.

Strange white "spots" inside egg--what is it??

It was in the white, not the yolk. I failed to take a picture, darn. Is it at all possible that a parasite could be transferred through the egg?

Strange white "spots" inside egg--what is it??

I just cracked two fresh eggs and discovered something I've never seen before. I'm hoping somebody can shed some light on what's up with my eggs. A small cluster, about the size of the tip of my pinky, of whitish little circles was inside the egg. Almost looked like teeny insect eggs all...

    Why aren't they laying anymore?

Our four hens are 9 months old and all summer we got 3 or 4 eggs a day. Exactly one month ago they abruptly stopped laying and we had no eggs for two weeks. Then after those two weeks we started getting one egg every other day. This is our first year of chickens, so could this be due to molting...

Does this seem like hen has an issue laying?

I'm curious, one of our hens works on laying her eggs for HOURS and she makes it seem so dramatic because she sings the loudest egg song (not exaggerating..it is SO very loud) for hours until she lays. And then it's a tiny little egg each time. She just started laying a few weeks ago, so I...

    Very noisy hens...what's up?

Oops, I meant to post this in behavior thread. Sorry. Anyway, I have 3 EEs and 1 White Rock.

    Very noisy hens...what's up?

We have four 6 month pullets (one has started laying) and they are all four very, very noisy at times. But it's becoming more frequent and I'm worried our neighbors (whose kitchen door is just on the other side of our fence) will complain SOON. Did we spoil them with treats? Is this a common...

    Hens or Roosters?

I've posted once weeks ago asking what sex our chickens may be, and the consensus was female. However, now we've heard a strange crow-like sound coming from the coop. I still suspect it could be one of these two, or maybe both, are roosters? The one with the black head is aggressive and has...

Raccoons-(serial killers) how have you resolved the problem?

We have a few raccoons coming around day and night. They walk around as if they own the place!! Wondering how people dispose of them once they are caught in a trap?

Raccoon (2) showed up during the day!

Starting to think I could have more than the chickens to worry about. My little ones could possibly be hurt if these raccoons are unwell.

Raccoon (2) showed up during the day!

Hmm..very interesting, maybe they are sick, because these two raccoons have been seen by myself and husband during the middle of the day, but that was at least a year ago, long before getting chickens. But today when we saw them, my neighbor said, "oh ya,they live up in our trees" (which are...

Raccoon (2) showed up during the day!

Okay, so I agree that predators aren't just hungry at night, but I have to let the girls out during daylight hours! And I can't always be in the backyard watching for a possible day-time-lurking raccoon. So you think it's just a crap-shoot to let them be outside without my supervision? Bummer...

Go in and come out of the

We're new as well and our 4 chickens did the same thing every night~huddle up on the floor of the run. So we were carrying them up to their coop each night for several weeks until they finally got it! We we're so excited to peek out at 7 p.m. and see that our pullets had put themselves to bed...

Raccoon (2) showed up during the day!

Hi, so I'm confused about whether or not we should be worrying about racoons getting to our chickens during daylight hours? We lock them up in the predator-proof run and coop at night, but I usually let them out into their larger run from 9 am-7 p.m. Today though, I was in the yard and two big...
