Just curious.. how much does everyone else pay for bales of straw? I feel like we're paying too much.. or maybe the price has just gone up in general. But I'd love to hear how much everyone else is paying in CT.

@Joshua G She is a golden laced wyandotte! I have a silver laced one as well. Our rooster is actually a sultan.. he's great with the ladies and a real sweetheart!

I've had one particularly small one. She did grow to normal size and lays faithfully but is definitely slow mentally. But it's cute and she's a sweetie. So she may catch up in size.

I hate talking to the feed store people. Mine told me it was too much trouble to order the food I wanted.. so I stopped shopping there. I spend a lot of money there, so if they can't accommodate me, then I'm not giving them my money. I have to go farther now, but at least the store carries more...

Recycling all our pumpkins! Does anyone know if you can cut them up and freeze some sections for the winter? Someone just offered us a freezer so I'll have room to put extra things away.

So I just tried the temp outside & inside comparison really quick before I headed inside for the night.. it was 39.6 degrees outside, and 46.8 inside! I took the temp just as they were getting onto the roost. Definitely warmer inside.
