How much do you charge for non fertile Muscovy Eggs?

A friend of mine has sold them before to bakeries. She suggested I sell them for around $15 a dozen. I don't know who to contact about it, though. Craigslist isn't the best place because people have to be looking for a specific item. Any idea on how to market these? I'm just kind of saving...

How much do you charge for non fertile Muscovy Eggs?

I haven't had any luck selling my chicken eggs so I thought I would post them with my Muscovy eggs. I know they are supposed to be excellent for baking. Do any of you sell them and, if so, for how much? I'm in southern California where everything is expensive so I don't want to be over the...

What day in the countdown is it??

This is my very first hatch and I'm not sure what day I'm on. I put them in the incubator on Friday March 7th at around 11pm. If I counted from that day, Friday would have been day 21. But I've seen some say that you don't count that first day, you wait 24 hours -then you start day 1. To add...

What kind of rooster do I have?

Yes, his spurs are waaay long! I couldn't believe it when I saw them. The previous owner did mention him having some silkie in him I just couldn't figure out where. Then I had a silkie and noticed they had similar combs. He's very colorful and vocal (at all hours!) I'm curious to see how...

What is the strangest place your hens have laid an egg?

I have one that waits for me to open the back door everyday so she can come inside and lay her egg on the computer chair. I have another that likes to lay eggs on the tile next to the refrigerator! They tend to crack, though.

My chickens are trying to get inside!

I leave the back door for mine to come inside in the afternoon. I have one that lays an egg consistently on my computer chair and another lays one by the refrigerator! I'm just happy they're laying and they're just so darn cute!

    Chickens with Rabbits

I kept my bunny with my chickens and never had a problem. My little bunny discovered that he really liked being around the chickens and could often be seen trying to mount them! The chickens would look at him like 'what the heck are you doing, buddy!?'

My chicken is an odd duck!

Thank-you for the avatar compliment, ctrlover! It was just too cute so I had to use it! I remember when I was a kid, my brother and I were always finding hidden chicken and duck eggs and it was so fun to throw those nasty stink bombs everywhere. The things kids find to entertain themselves...

Maybe you're both right. I just couldn't believe it. She must've told the others because I had another one keep trying to sneak in. It's the new Hen Hangout!

My chicken is an odd duck!

I believe that this was this girl's first egg and she had a DEFINITE idea about where she wanted to lay it!! Somehow, someway, this chicken got it in her mind that my computer chair inside the house was THE place to lay an egg. I shoo'd her out many times (I was working on the chicken coop...
