7 weeks old. Do you know what breed this is?

Here she is on the left, next to the one I believe to be a RIR. Their coloring is similar, but the one on the left also has the black/additional patterning.

Here's another one that shows the colors and pattern a little better.

7 weeks old. Do you know what breed this is?

Thank you for your thoughts on this. It's really neat to see how her feathers/patterns are developing. She was a light honey brown when she was a "baby."

7 weeks old. Do you know what breed this is?

We thought she was a RIR, but now I'm thinking she may be a different breed. Thank you for your help. :)

    White! Leghorn, Rock, or Cornish?

You'll be able to tell for sure if it's a leghorn or rock when they start to develop earlobes. Rocks have red earlobes, and leghorns do not. Hope that helps. My white chicks are five weeks old, and just starting to develop earlobes.

    Boys or girls

I'm not an expert, but I think the ones with the long tail feathers are roosters.

    Hi there! Newbie in California.

Thank you for the warm welcomes. :) I was able to find out the county ordinance for roosters, and we would be allowed to keep her if she's actually a "he." As far as the other implications, I suppose I'd need to do some research, lol.

3-week-old RIR -- what do you think?

Thank you for the reply. :) Are baby roosters ever called Roos? Or always cockerels? I'm new to this, so I have no idea, lol. ;-)

3-week-old RIR -- what do you think?

We thought we got all pullets, but could this little cutie possibly be a cockerel? Buttercup is 3 weeks old. Thanks for sharing your opinion. :)

    Hi there! Newbie in California.

Hi there, My name is Michelle. My family and I have 6 3-week-old chicks (3 Leghorns or White Rocks, and 3 RIR). This is our first time raising chickens. We got them to have as pets, and for the eggs. One of our little cuties started developing wattles already, so we may only have five hens. We...
