    The pavers beyond the dig prevention are so I don't have to keep the grass mowed in that area or deal with mud. I also decided on the planters after the fact. The fence will be white plastic picket so things can still slip through the pickets

    Thanks the front of the planters are about 125ft from the back porch. Plan to have the fence and vegetables in this week ill post pictures when it's done. You can't see it but there is a 3 ft by 21 ft planter behind the coop. That one will be tomatoes only and the others will have a variety of...

    In mine the actual coop has a floor it is made from the plastic deck boards that do not rot or absorb liquid, there is an area under the coop that is part of the run. Predators either have to pick up a 17lb paver( they can't move them because they are sandwiched between the coop and planter wall...

    Hardware cloth or the solar powered Fidoshock electric fence that you and pick up and move with the tractor? Stake it 4 feet away from the tractor and move it as you move the tractor.

    Here's mine with hardware cloth under the pavers (2 feet) of them boxed in by the planters this will be fenced and a vegetable garden with the tunnels in the rows for the birds to work the weeds and bugs

    Pullet or cockerel?

    Yeh the molted one carries the tail feathers higher then the other 3, its also a bit more aggressive and it lays out a wing every once in awhile. It's also maybe 10-20% larger than the 3 other siblings? The other 3 will come and sit at the fence when I show up that one is a bit skittish...

    Thanks Hopefully it will be finished this weekend. Still debating over putting sand in the run there is a 5.5" deck board border so I could actually put about 2-3 inches of depth but I'm not sure how well it will hold up

( I already regret not making the run walk in hieght) but that can be changed later and/or based on the things I've read this won't be our last coop just our smaller...
