    Help Identifying colors in Japanese

Thank you for your help! Now they'll be three weeks old on Wednesday, is it too soon to tell the sex? Only one so far has her whole neck speckled and one has a reddish spot on his chest. So is this a female?

    Help Identifying colors in Japanese

I was given seven quail eggs for hatching and I was only told they were jumbo coturnix. I seem to have two different colors. Yellow colored chicks with black stripes, and brownish chicks with black stripes. The darker ones I'm assuming are the Pharaoh. So here is the yellowish chick - perhaps a...

Review by '' on item 'Australorp'

I had two australorp hens, which I got as pullets, they layed consistently, were well tempered and gorgeous birds. They both went broody together at the same time, several times. They were very vocal birds and liked to squawk a lot. However, I now have an Australorp rooster who is extremely...

Roosters with black spot on comb

I have three roosters, one australorp, one buckeye and one campine mix. They will be a year old in the spring. They were brought to me about a week ago. I have no other birds. But these three all have black patches on their combs. I'm not sure if it is pox, or if it is frost bite? I live in Nova...

    Introducing a new rooster

There are no hens involved at all. I only have roosters. So that takes away most of the aggression because they're not protecting any ladies, they only have each other.

    Introducing a new rooster

Yes well they've been raised together. They actually get along better than my hens used to. No fussing between them at all. It's really sweet. That's why I'm nervous about how this new guy will affect them.

    Introducing a new rooster

So I have a very large coop/room for my birds. In here I keep three roosters which were all raised together (no hens). And they get along really well. I also have one other rooster kept in another barn. In the spring, I would like the let all of my roosters free range to help keep bugs down...

    Pale Comb

No sign of any mites on her or any of my other birds, so that's good news. And she's young, just a pullet of 9 or 10 months. EDIT: Her comb is back to normal!

    Pale Comb

I dout it is anything serious since their are no other symptoms of illness. Now that you mention it there are tons of black feathers throughout the coop! I bet that's it! Thanks!

    Pale Comb

One of my pullets stopped laying about a week ago and since then her comb has been very pale. She also seems to have some feather loss on her face. She is acting normal (aside from not laying). I had been putting a little ACV in the water and stopped just before she stopped laying. Perhaps...
