Not sure where on the pecking order she is, I thought she was at the top because when we got 2 new birds she was on them all the time. I will look for mites tonight but thought they would be on all of the birds not just one.
If i have mites in my coop, will they be on all the chickens or just 1? The reason I am asking is, my EE has lost all of her feathers on her back between here wings ( I think they are saddle fethers). None of the other birds have, so I am not sure what it is. I have looked at her back and dont...
I wish I would have read this earlier tonight. I just lost my Speckled Sussex because I didn't know this. Now I know what to do in the future if this happens again.
I didnt like the version with the "Y" in it because then the food sits in the bottom and the chickens cant get to it, so I opted for the 90's and that way it all slides down.

Here is mine, it is 4" thin walled PVC, with a 90 degree bend and then a 22 degree bend. It is roughly 48" tall because that is as tall as I could go.
Thank you, feel free to copy what you want or ask any questions, as you can see that's what I did.
Thank you, I was going for the old red barn look. The pavers by the fence are there because there for 2 reasons, They were cheaper than hardware cloth, and my neighbor has all kinds of flowers...
It is 4" PVC with a 90 on the bottom and a 22 degree. The first one I built went from 4" down to 2" but it bottle necked it to much so I switched it to all 4" and have no problems.

Thank you, I am the type to overthink/build things, but I wanted it to look nice since it is in my side yard so eveytime we are out back I see it. I love it when friends come over and comment on how much they like it and how nice it is, plus my wife was all for it as long as it didnt...

That is a sight gauge so I can see how much water is in it. I used a 3/4" 90 degree hose barb on the outside with clear tube and on the inside is a 3/4" threaded coupling. It was the cheapest route instead of using a bulkhead. After I tightened it all the way I put some silcone around...
I am gonna run by there today and try to get pictures of the 2 he got. Looking at picture online, I should be abe to tell at 8 weeks if his is a BLRW or a GLW. On a side note, there is a lady near me the has Blue Wyandottes that are a couple weeks younger than mine so that may be my option...
When I bought them, I had a friend that wanted a Welsummer and an EE, so my order was 1 Silky, 2 Welsummers, 1 BLRW, 1 GLW, 1 SS, 3 EE, and a BA. It was hard to guess which was which when I got them, but I have seen the 2 I gave him a couple of weeks back and his look like a Welsummer and a GLW...
I have 8 chickens that are just over 8 weeks old. I have figured some of them out like the Silky, Black Australorp , Speckled Sussex and Easter Eggers, Those first ones are easy cause the look nothing like the others. The only reason I think I know the EE's is because I got 2 from the hatchery...
First off, I want to say thanks for everyone who has posted ideas on here. It has been lots of help in designing my coop and feeder and waterer. Here is my setup. The feeder holds approx.15-18lbs of feed and the waterer holds just over 2 gallons. Any feed back is appreciated.
Here is the coop...
I checked her crop and it doesn't seem like that is the issue. I will hit the feed store tomorrow and see what they have. I may grab some grit even though their coop is dirt/sand. Thanks again for your help.
