Oh no, it sounds like you've really been through a lot with your flock! Dealing with predators and mischievous puppies can be challenging, especially in a town setting like yours.
As I posted a few posts above... racoons are the WORSTE! Trapping the raccoon and opossum must have been tough...
Sorry to hear about your losses... especially your buddy Jerry :(
Glad to hear you've got some new chicks! It can be SUPER surprising how quickly they grow, right?!?!?
Keep us posted with pics and updates!
Sounds like you've been through a lot with the move and changes at home. Sorry to hear about your mom. :(
Ugh, raccoons are THE WORST!!! We've def. lost more birds to them than anything else.
That exchange of produce for eggs sounds like a fantastic arrangement!
11 babies?!? I can say I've never hatched more than 6. Did you use a specific brooder or nature's own solution... a hen? LOL! Any pics of the babies to share??
Hey, great to see you back! Sounds like you’ve got your hands full with both the chicks and those pesky squirrels. Clever trick with the cayenne pepper, though! It’s always a challenge to keep those little raiders at bay.
It's fantastic that you're helping others get started with their own...
Oh wow, that sounds incredibly tough. Sorry your husband got sick. :(
I hope you find some comfort during these times, and who knows, maybe someday you’ll have the chance to enjoy those pretty eggs again. If you ever need to chat or just want to share more, we’re a good group for that too! Take...
Wow... SUPER jealous of your beautiful coop / setup!!!
Crazy impressive!
PLEASE tell me you created a BYC Coop page with all the pics and details and submitted it to our coop page contest!?!?!

Ducks moved out of mom's? On their way to college? ;)
Sorry about the dog attack. We also lost mujscovys once to neighbor's dog :(
Keep up the wonderful work, and thanks for sharing your duck adventures with us!
Hey there! Sorry to hear about your losses, but glad to know your current flock is doing well... even in crazy tornado season. I can't even imagine what that's like! It must keep you on your toes!
Good luck resisting the urge to get more chicks can be tough with all the adorable photos floating...
Thanks for sharing those pics!!
That's wonderful to hear about your Silkies! They can be great mothers. Sorry about the loss of your rooster, but it sounds like the rest of the flock is thriving?
It’s great that you’re seeing such good results with natural brooding... I've been super fortunate...
Hi there! Exciting times with new chicks coming in... it's going to be a fun adventure! Don't hesitate to reach out with any questions or share your experiences as you go. Looking forward to hearing more about your chicks and seeing pics <hint> ;)
