    Thank you for your help, I haven't seen her get pecked though perhaps she has. She just started laying, could that be a factor? I will check tonight for mites though she is the only one out of nine showing this issue. I appreciate the advise and the suggestions very much! Thanks!

    Thanks everyone, glad to hear the general feeling is she is indeed a girl. Happy to have a splash of color to the mix of beautiful buffs. The black tail looks spot on, but I can also see where she would be a mix too. I appreciate the input!

    I tried a warm compress for a bit last night, and she was able to close her eye! Gunked again today but did the Same thing tonight and again she could get it closed. She is still eating great and drinking and socializing s I will keep it p until I see any difference... Hope she will grow out of...
