Does anyone know the results of such a cross? If so, did it prove incomplete dominance for the color traits (both speckled and white)? Just wondering since I have different types of coturnix breeding with eachother.
Hi everybody!
I have a few quail (60 or more)... And now I need to make a new pen or house or something for them. I have them in hutches that don't have a drop down bottom to let the poop out, so now that's no longer a great idea since they are laying eggs. What do you guys use for quail...
Hi guys, I got a problem. My 20 weeks old sex linked pullet is sick and I'm not sure what it is. I isolated her from the rest of the flock since I just noticed her being in a shady corner resting on the ground. Her comb and waddles have turned from a healthy red to a light pink. She has not...
I had 3 different thermometers reading all the same temps as well as 3 different hydrometers. That's why I'm confused about this ordeal I can't figure out what I did wrong!
Hi guys, I recently had a hatch of coturnix quail eggs. I had bought 75shipped quail eggs and had 15 of my own totaling 90 eggs. My humidity was hovering around 45% to 50% and my temps stayed a constant 99.5F and I am using a farm innovators pro series 4200 circulated air with automatic egg...
When I have a new coop, I lock my chickens in the new coop. They will learn pretty quick after a day of being "cooped up." And let them out in the morning after. Try that.
I've been collecting my quail eggs to put in my incubator all at once, I've been collecting them and letting them rest in 60F room with bottoms up. I have not been turning the eggs though... Are they still good for the incubator?
Ok so I started 60 quail eggs in my incubator 18 days ago, and today is day 18, everything about the temps and humidity were/are great for now. Like they were at 45-55% humidity before day 14 at 100F and after day 14, I stopped turning and bumped the humidity to 65-75%. And now today is day 18...
For this hatch, I'm using a tank surrounded the inside with foil, plenty of water and 2 60W lights. Everything was perfect until winter showed it's ugly rear again... That's Rhode Island weather unfortunately. But I have my temps back to normal. Just hope they hatch in 15 days....or ever lol
I'm still kinda new to raising and hatching quail, I've hatched once before but this is my second time and I got a problem. It's day 3 on incubation, humidity and temps have been stable. Then today, I woke up to seeing the temp drop to 93F instead of 99.5-100F. We just had a ice storm come out...
