Where can I get chicks or POL pullets in SC this time of year?

Does anyone know where I can get chicks or POL pullets this time of year in SC? I am in Sumter, and don't mind driving to pick up some chicks. I am hoping to add a good layer breed to my small flock of marans and lavender ameraucanas. I sure would appreciate any advice you're all willing to give!

I don't...I had a little trouble getting good shots. They are sweet and friendly but very very active, lol! Thanks for the screen name compliment.

You're right...not the best pics. They are about 8 weeks old now. Should I get shots of their combs or bodies?

Lavender Americaunas....can anyone tell me what gender they are?

I purchased these sweet birds straight run, one day old...and I think I may have two roos and two pullets. It's really hard to tell with this breed, or at least I am finding it hard. Lol This is #1 --> Number #2 number #3 And #4 I'm really on the fence about them...I've heard so...

Thank you! It's funny, the buffs are tougher to guess than my other chickens. My maran too looked like a velociraptor by five weeks while the girls were more....horizontal. My buffs all look the horizontal but with combs. Lol!

Right around 10 weeks...but I saw some comb development at about five weeks. Is that typical of B Orpingtons, or just the males? :-)

Hi there! I love my new buff orpingtons and if I were to limit myself to only one breed, they would be it. So sweet, curious and friendly! I have recently had four little chicks given to me and now that they are a couple of months old...I am worried that I may have all roosters. Their combs...

Breeding a gorgeous French black copper Maran Roo and a Lavender Ameraucana Hen.

Hi there! I am curious about how this match turned out? I have beautiful french standard Black Copper Marans and am running to Columbia, SC to pick up some Lavender Americauna chicks this weekend. I too would like to see how they would turn out. I have read that they will have olive eggs but...

    Greetings new BYC friends!

I am a brand new chicken owner, a crazy dream finally come true for me! We purchased seven chicks, 3 Black Copper Marans, 2 Rhode Island Reds and 2 New Hampshire Reds. They are doing great in our house right now under a heat bulb and my husband and I are busily constructing a beautiful chicken...
