Picked up 50 3 day old quail today from THE GEORGIA MAD HATCHER in Hawkinsville, ga. Was a very pleasant experience and the quail were just beautiful. Very nice facility.
Thanks, I had not opened the incubator until yesterday when i did the water test. Will wait a couple more days. They could be like a "watchedpot" i've looked at them so much.
I have bcm and americana eggs in the incubator. This is day 23 and still no activity. When I did water test yesterday on 6 eggs all were still viable. Should I continue and if so how long?
I am always hearing bobwhite quail are harder to raise then the cortunix. Is this true? If so what kind of measures or steps do I need to follow to make everything work. I plan just to start off with just 30 bobwhite eggs at first.
The last 3 quail that hatched sunday night are not as steady on their legs as the ones that hatched Monday night. I have been dipping their beak in water with probiotics to make them stronger. They have started dipping their beak when i hold them up to water. One has started pecking a little...
day 2 of hatch so far have 23 tenn red b/w babies and one more fixing to break out of the egg. we have 12 left and some of those are moving. I am so excited this is the first time we have hatched anything. 22 tenn. red and one solid white one.
We have Tennessee Reds which are a bob White quail. So far we have 17 or 18 . They have hatched all day. When we got home from chuch tonight we had a white one. Good luck with your hatch.
I have eggs in the bator supposed to hatch on day 23 was going on lockdown today. Surprise, when i got up this morning had one quail already hatched in the turner. Moved the turner now we have 5 hatched. They are so tiny and cute!!!! Eggs are moving so we will have more. I looked last night...
I have 3 hens, all are the same age, 1 hen laid little pullett eggs for about a month, now she has gone broody and we have her setting on quail eggs but the other two still have not started laying. Is it possible they will finally start laying? i know they are over 6 months old.
Does anyone know where I can buy quail or turkey starter? I have some eggs that should hatch in a few days, but can't seem to find the right feed. Thanks in advance.
The egg in the center is from a barred rock the rest are from the black australorp. They have been laying for about 3 weeks. Should they get larger as the hens get older?
Thanks everyone. I looked at the feet this morning and they are white so I thinks all or your were right and they are australorps. They are a very beautiful chicken if they will start laying eggs bigger than a bantham egg.
Can someone please tell me what breed these are? I know the reds are RIR, bought the blacks as black copper maran, but from all my research I have my doubts. Any help will be appreciated.
I h?ave 3 pullets that I purchased as black copper ,marans, One has started laying, lays a very small egg that is tan colored. Will the eggs get larger and darker in color as my chicken matures?
It has been very hot and humid during the last week with lots of rain. No snake because I have an americana in the same coop and get and egg from her everyday.
