What is this on a chicks vent?

I was clearing some pasty butt off one of my rainbow rangers and found something that looks like a cold sore underneath. Any ideas on what it might be and/or how to get rid of it??

Just making sure... this is a rooster, right?

Sorry, I guess I wasn't very clear, the first pic is the crowing suspected rooster. The second pic is the other hen I have of the same breed, simply for comparison.

Even though the comb and waddle are much bigger and more red and it's starting to crow?

PS - Yes, I will be 'repurposing' him for his meat as I don't want a rooster.

Just making sure... this is a rooster, right?

What would you do to make this safe/livable for chickens??

We're actually still working on it :/ We're trying to figure out the best way to get concrete in there with all the asphalt shingles being about 6-8" deep. We're hoping to have it finished (mostly) in the next couple weeks - but I promise to put up pictures when we get there!!

The more I think about it the more I like the idea of concrete. I think I'm going to research that avenue more. Thanks you guys for all the input!!

What would you do to make this safe/livable for chickens??

Yeah, the floor is definitely going to be the bear of the project. What is Sevin 5%? I've never heard of it.

What would you do to make this safe/livable for chickens??

Thanks for the input! I have a large garage/workshop also, so I'm probably going to use that for storage so I can maximize chicken living space. I definitely want to cut out some more windows for ventilation. I'm most curious as to what people think I should do about the floor?

What would you do to make this safe/livable for chickens??

I need help because I don't know where to begin! We just bought a house outside of city limits on about an acre. It has a shed/barn type structure which used to house chickens (many, many years ago) but more recently has been used simply for storage (by the previous owners). I want to transform...
