Hey, my name is Stevie. I'm 20 years old and I'm a college student going for my Fashion Design degree and due to graduate this semester. I love animals (especially chickens!) I own over 50 of them and I can never have enough! I love to write and sketch and play the guitar! I've recently gotten...
I recieved some pullets from a hatchery back in March and they have grown quite a bit inside (kept them in a box inside the house in an isolate room for about 2 months). When they got old enough to stand the colder weather (by that time it was getting warm again outside) I put them outside under...
My B.B.Red roosters were about 7 months when their 2 longer feathers grew over their tails. But my Red pyles were 5 months old when theirs started growing. It all depends on their genetic line. Some roosters tail feathers don't grow very long and they shouldn't be used for breeding.
First of all I'd like to say that she should make a full recovery. I'm not too fond of putting neosporin on avian wounds. Try getting some betadine and mix it 50/50 with water and apply that 2-3 times a day. Rub it in good. A little blood is fine, but you don't want to start the bleeding again...
Sounds like she got "water-logged". Feel of her crop and see if it is large and round and fluid filled. If she drank too much too quickly, this can happen very easily. Bubbles from the throat is a sheer sign of this, as the water is trying to come back up the throat from the crop and it coats...
Rosecombs "rise" a lot slower than single combs, but more progessively than pea combs. There is a possibility that they are all females, because my golden sebright hen has just now grown a comb and she's nearly a year old.

I'm not sure if this is really what your chicken has, but it seems very likely since my hen has had similar...
We had them all in tall pens up off of the ground to keep them from getting infected with Cocci since the bacteria is INSANE in the ground in our yard. We usually only let chickens on the ground after they are 6 months old, as even with medicated water, they always stay sick. Babies on the...
Is that REALLY what they are??? Personally, I think they're all mutts, but I would like to know what some of them are mixed with. I've never seen chickens like these before . . . and they're all brothers and sisters.

My hen had something like that. Turned out to be a goiter. Her's just went away after a few months . . . as long as he's eating and drinking, he should be fine if I'm correct. Just chop stuff up into smaller pieces for him because it's gonna be more difficult for him to swallow for a while. Good...
She;s doing fine - she's a lot more peppy now than she was yesterday. She's actually walking a lot and putting her weight on the splint, but I don't know how to wrap her foot . . . so far her foots is doing fine. It's not loosing blood or anything which is a good sign.
I'm just scared to take...
