    I really like the Hovabator Genesis, i have had many good hatches with mine, i recently bought the Maticoop on Amazon after reading all the great reviews and because they cant seem to keep them in stock, i have not used it yet but will be doing a hatch soon.

    Mink tips and advice

    I had a mink kill one of my chickens, i put the dead chicken in a Hav a hart trap and he was in there the next morning i took my pellet rifle and stuck it in the cage and he bit the barrel that was it, i told my wife 29 more and she will get that mink coat she wanted

    The best broody breed

    I have had several breeds go broody, Easter egger, Barred rock, black Austrolop and right now a 6 month old Red sexlink but with those breeds it is hit or miss, i am going to get some Cochins next because a friend has them and they go broody often

    I sold all 37 of my chickens last October because i turned 80 but i missed them so much i ordered 20 16 week old pullets for end of March and i am heading to TSC to buy some chicks, my Grandson eats 4 eggs every morning and is willing to help out, so sorry i sold mine

    The batch i hatched are now 10 weeks old and weigh between 3.4 and 4.9 pounds will be processed in 2 weeks very happy with them. getting plenty of large to extra large eggs from the hens

    The chicks have hatched 12 out of 15 eggs, very pretty colors but Mama is very protective and covers them right away so took a while to get an accurate count but pretty sure 12 hatched, 3 eggs left in broody box cant wait to see how they progress

    I have 21 Golden comets that started laying at 18 to 21 weeks old, they laid large eggs right away and are now laying X large to Jumbo with Double yolkers sometimes, i was getting 19 to 21 eggs daily and now at 20 months 15 to 20 every day, If you want a lot of good size eggs go with Golden Comets

    Dixie Rainbows

    I had 8 Roosters processed at 15 weeks and 2 days they weighted 4.3 to 6.1 pounds, I fed Dumor 20% Starter/grower the whole time, I lost one at 5 weeks to an accident and I had one develop leg problems at 13 weeks and a couple others limped a little at 15 weeks, not a good sign for longevity...

    Yes it does TY, I ordered 20 Dixie Rainbows and have 10 cockerels and 9 pullets and at 8 weeks the males weigh 3 to 5 pounds, i will keep the largest rooster and the pullets and hatch the eggs in the spring, i hope to process at 15 weeks and will update Thanks again
