Couple Day Old Chick. What is it, please?

I truly hope it is not an "Easter Egger" I don't think we could get more ORDINARY than an EE. I hope it turns out to be an Andalusian or something more unusual. I think I might never order from this Hatchery again if they think an EE is "Rare and Exotic" I DO agree, it's a Roo. It even has the...

Couple Day Old Chick. What is it, please?

I would be extremely disappointed if the hatchery considered an EE a "Rare and Exotic Breed" As well, I have Easter Eggers and I have to be honest it doesn't really remind me of an EE On one hand I'm Clueless with almost no experience, so you could be right. On the other hand I have the...

Couple Day Old Chick. What is it, please?

My guess from pictures on the net, is a Silver Laced Wyandotte. It's a WILD Guess based on limited internet pictures and ZERO knowledge. I'm not sure what this hatchery considers a Rare Exotic chicken, but I bet it isn't TOO rare or exotic for a FREE bird. I'll post more pictures as the weeks...

    Duckling with . . . . bent legs?

Thank you for the link. I found several websites with info about ducks and niacin, but they were all extremely vague. Without your link I would have probably overdosed my duck on niacin.

    Missing Chicken During Blizzard

Found HER! She was in an evergreen tree on the north side of the house. She didn't come out until the sun was shining on the tree. She STILL hasn't headed back to the chicken coop yet, but she's okay and that's all that matters.

    Missing Chicken During Blizzard

Colorado got a pretty big snow storm yesterday. I notice during the storm one of the hens was missing. I figured she just hunkered down in an evergreen or somewhere and I'd see her at sundown at the chicken coop. Roost time came and went and no chicken. I thought when the sun comes up she would...

Is This Normal? Pekin Ducks Stopped Laying? . . . Or Are Eating Eggs?

The chickens are laying fine. From 5 hens I'm getting about 20+ eggs a week this past month. They were ALL born around April 1, 2015. They are being fed an All flock and free range everyday. The Coop is in a Greenhouse during the Winter. The chicken eggs that I put in the duck coop were fine...

Is This Normal? Pekin Ducks Stopped Laying? . . . Or Are Eating Eggs?

I have 2 Pekin hens. During the Winter I would get an occasional egg, but about a month ago even the occasional egg stopped. I look around the pen every day and there are no duck eggs. I have 4 Easter Egger hens and their nest box is in the same pen. I don't notice any missing or partially eaten...
