    Which roo characteristics are better?

My computer and my chickens hate me! Anyway, here's the best I could do for a side to side comparison. They both look so different, but I'm certain they're both roos. The hens have round feathers and barely any combs, etc. The small roo has a better pick of his face earlier. I'll keep trying.

    Which roo characteristics are better?

PS. I have three FBCM hens and four buff Orps that I am mostly using for eggs. IF I hatch any eggs out, it will be for meat or replacement hens. I will be also keeping one huge, but so far mellow, Orp roo. Please help me decide on the better maran roo.

    Which roo characteristics are better?

I have two FBCM roos that are 22 weeks old. I am only going to keep one. I will get pix posted tomorrow if necessary as they are all roosting right now for the night. The first one is big, lots of color, in my face whenever I go out there, but hasn't been directly aggressive yet and NO...

    Long time a'coming...

LOL! Right? I'm trying to feel lucky. No one seems to want to at least tell me which of my pictures is their favorite so I have some culling info to go by. Don't be afraid! You can't hurt my feelings!! Are they ALL that bad?

    Long time a'coming...

Here is an attachment of some of the roosters I have that I am trying to pick from. I did not get each one and couple are duplicates. The FBCM is the more aggressive of the two. The other one that I did not get a pic of has nice feathering down the legs, but is a smaller roo. The first two...

    Red Dorkings

These are two Red Dorking chicks, two weeks old. I know it's too young to really know, but are there any psychics out there that can tell me if they think they are the same sex or different? And if different, roos or pullets? :D

    Long time a'coming...

Thanks so much for all of the good advice! Today, I'm going to look them all over for the closest to "Standard of Perfection" and narrow it down to a few, then watch them this week for temperament towards me and the hens. If I get stuck, I'll post pix and have you guys tell me what to do! LOL!

    Long time a'coming...

Our family eats ALOT of eggs as we have different dietary restrictions and eggs are well tolerated by all. I think I would like to increase the hens to 10 with one roo. How to add hens will be a different problem I'll ask about in the future. I was just out with my flock trying to get ideas...

Thank you! I will keep ONE roo and increase my hens to 10...somehow....by magic.... Now I just have to figure out what criterion to apply to the 10 buff roos that I have to decide which ONE stays...or maybe none and get a brand new one, maybe a different breed? Waiting for more help with...

    Long time a'coming...

Hello! I have been a silent follower of this site for about 8 months as I learn about chickens. After much research, I hatched 12 Buff Orps and 7 French Black Copper Marans the end of January. I am partial to the heritage, dual purpose breeds. I now have a dilemma and have been searching...
